I actually went to the garage to check on that stem. It's not as bad as I thought. It would need some serious TLC to make it usable. I just thought I mangled the clamp area when I was prying it off. But it's really the corrosion that makes it look bad.

Cannot believe how heavy the damn thing is, though.

Closer inspection revealed a mixed bag of components.

There i was, eating my pasta and now it's all over my keyboard . It is a 55cm top tube, but a 60cm seat tube, so i should be able to fit scott's seatpost length rule without joining cirque du soleil . I've had another look over it, carbon seatpost (although it's been overtightened and split ), Profile aerobars because i swear every other bike in noosa has aerobars, and a yellow, black and red Selle Italia which is a bit tatty. Lovely curvy seatstays too .munga wrote:so it's a 55cm frame with a 450mm seatpost, then? B-)
One weird thing though, the top cap on the threadless headset has 3 evenly spaced grub screws going in the top, i've never seen anything like it? Will definitely get some pics up tomorrow.

Guessing the centre one is the normal threadless screw, but the other two allow for something to be mounted to the top cap?ldrcycles wrote:One weird thing though, the top cap on the threadless headset has 3 evenly spaced grub screws going in the top, i've never seen anything like it? And the weird headset thing. Haven't measured yet but i reckon it's 1".
And the pretty seatstays
Can't wait to pop some wheels on and have a test ride.

None taken, I'm actually growing quite fond of it, the more i look at it the more i like it . Aside from the bar tape and clip ons of course!LG wrote:I don't mean offence, but that is one ugly bike
Scored an absolute corker tonight, the hard rubbish collection to end all hard rubbish collections. A POOL TABLE! Needs a little TLC but basically sound, even had 2 cues still inside .
