well, i could start, but the forum owner doesn't need the grief. nevertheless, threatening legal action against the very forum you're spruiking your wares on is pretty average.

You're trying to sell things, so your post would logically go in the marketplace.

So, once you're over in the marketplace, you'll see the 'rules for posting here' sticky thread at the top of the page and you'll presumably read it.

You might also find the shed section helpful for identifying any obvious (or less than obvious) issues with any of those kerbside cleanup bicycles.

In my opinion, eBay sales belong on eBay, while posts relating to cycling and which foster the goodwill of the collective community have their place here.

I think I know which kind your contributions thus far are, however I'm happy to be proven wrong.

I understand where you are coming from however find it a bit odd that you will all trawl the net for similar bikes and yet when someone posts about a particular item.As I said in my original post i wasnt sure if it was the correct place and I did disclose I was the seller, anyway I will leave you to it,they will sell no matter what

Doesn't belong in this thread but a giant defy composite 3. Very happy so far but still have a soft spot for steel. I like the look of yours, keen to see how it ends up!

I have a Repco "Superlite", which I restored as a project to get my young bloke out riding (didnt happen). Spent a couple of hundred on new cables & outers, new Panaracer tyres Paint etc etc.......

It is now going to ruin up the side of the house and the Missus wants it gone!

It has Sugino canks, Suntour deraileurs with downtube shifters, Weinman 27"rims on Maillard hubs, an SR fluted seatpost, and the frame is XL (suit a giant). Worth it, just for the parts!

If anyone here is interested (before I advertise it) $50 & it's yours - (I'm nearly giving this away, not so much selling it)

Need this GONE!! PM me.

Agreed landscapecadmonkey
=>> It doesn't need to be Aly, Carbon or new to do the kms, I've got plenty of respect for steel.

87/88 Olympic 12 makes a great 15km each way daily commuter fitted with some 700x28c Vittoria Randonneur's - Reflective side walls.
If dry 87/88 Vertex good for 40-80km on the weekend else the Olympic 12 gets another run.

Not bad for a pineapple! Great job Rebilda!

I'm thinking of using this as my rainy day commuter and want to fit some mudguards, but having a look at the clearance at the rear brake there doesn't seem to be enough room - has anyone else fitted mudguards to a superlite? Maybe I need to change tyres, or even wheels..

32mm Pasela's are a bit big if your going to run guards. 28mm might be a better option.

They're 27 x 1 1/4 so it may be just the shape of the tyre.. I have the same size in a Serfas tyre on my apollo iv so I'll try a quick wheel swap to see if there is a difference..

I've got a single speed wheel set from a Charge fixie waiting to go on another frame so one option is to turn this frame into the single speed wet weather commuter as the overall diameter leaves a bit more room for guards. I also have an old 5 speed sturmey archer hub laced to a 27" rim that was meant to go on a black and yellow RT Sport and I'm toying with the idea of converting this frame to a hub. Although this won't solve the tyre issue...

The other thing I've noticed is the freewheel is very noisy - the apollo is silent when you're freewheeling whereas this one clicks like a gibbering monkey.. is that just a case of how the freewheel was designed or does it need a bit of lubrication?

Some are noisy some aren't. If your worried about it pull it off and soak it in some light grade engine oil. Pull it out and let it drain for a few days. It may quiet it down.

Yeah, It is a loud freewheel.

Some people like 'em like that (works like a bell or a horn, just stop peddling and people know you are there)
