Folks,
My good friend Matt, who got me into mountain biking, the other day astounded me by his fortune.
From the tip, for $5, he got himself a 12 speed, cromo-framed Holstar Road bike.
Complete 105 groupset, save for the chainrings, indexed downtube friction shifters, compact cassette and Biopace chainrings, a 52 and a 48 if memory serves me. 700C wheels, short reach brakes... About the only concern is the freewheel that sounds like it's eating itself.
It's far lighter than my Apollo, it feels far nimbler on the roll. I have to say, I'm impressed.
I'll try to grab some photos later today.
My mate's old Holstar roadie...
