We really are a throw away society, but I guess if you had to pay to fix this it wouldn't be worth it.

But I'll take it anyway! :D

How did you acquire this treasure? Was it a council cleanup score from the roadside?

Yup, the good old bulk rubbish collection.

The pictures make it look better than it is, the frame is pretty shabby (but seems sound) and the chrome forks are a bit pitted, but I'm still grinning :D

I was thinking, after seeing the "Enzo" thread, that it would look nice repainted red.

What's broken in the rear hub? Flange, barrel, axle, other?
What make & model? There's a good chance that an identical replacement can be sourced & the bike returned to service.

Its the flange that's busted. As the rims are Jap anyway and I have a spare Shimano Hub I'll rebuild the wheel using that.

Nice find - with that groupset it would have to be an '86 / '87 model. It looks like a Victory gruppo to me to. I understand that the Victory cranks had a LH thread in the extractor holes but that shouldn't be a problem with the self extractor bolts yours seem to have.

I actually like the look of the Victory groupset, I also think it was better finished than the triomphe set. I have heard that the Victory components were annodised where the Triomphe components were not annodised. I may be wrong though. I have a bike with a Triomphe gruppo and it looks pretty good. It seems to work well too. The 116mm PCD of the crank rings make them a little odd though.
