nice observation, LG.
so many cheap fixies around these days, and chumps still insist on grinding hangers off.

Yep, it's a shame it looks like it's been done, but I guess it's his/her bike to do with as they please. The frame's probably taken a significant hit in value as a result, and now probably also greatly reduced the number of people who would want to buy it. Be interesting if it's still on frog's radar

What about the time you picked up the handmade Lemond for the price of a bag of chips? Makes up for the others.

Appreciate the comments guys.
Bike wasnt built to be sold...it is part of my collection of 15 bikes.
To me, a 20-30 yo mass produced bike is not one I would shed too many tears over. it is the youngest bike in my collection. Most are all over 40yo the oldest being 60+ years...these bikes dont get "butchered" they get restored to original or fixies able to be converted back.
Just a different point of view.

Just picked up 70s model Pug with the following:

- Suntour (some GT-7) derailleurs and shifters
- Nitto-Peugeot co-branded bars & stem
- Sugino crankset
- Dia-Compe levers

Not bad work for a lazy Sunday!

I wish I could find a nice quality pug in 48-50cm, my wife misses her old Tourmalet (especially now I have a ventoux) but it was a bit big for her.

Bob_Tas your Tourmalet looks AWESOME with that kinesis fork! Bad ass :)

Thanks mate, it was a little bit short but a great ride. Have since replaced the stem and bars with Peugeot and Nitto-Peugeot items respectively. Some new tape and cables have made it a more responsive shift and brake :D

I thought I'd show you my Ventoux. I found this 501 Reynolds Ventoux frame on the side of the road at 10pm one night, riding home from a horrible shift at work. It was serendipitous. A nice frame, the fork and stays sadly are carbolite and not full Reynolds 501 but I've since found from finding it that despite the ~200g weight penalty the frame rides beautifully and is very responsive. It's a 60cm frame and I'm running campagnolo veloce, khamsin wheels and a quill stem adaptor, 3t 100mm stem and 44cm deda bars though I may try some FSA compact bars soon. Weight is 10.6kg but I am running wire bead gatorskins for commuting.

Ideally I want to run some campy Zonda rims (1477g vs. 1900 odd that I'm running now) and will switch to lighter tyres to drop a bit of weight.

Here's a pic :

Yeah I'm just a few millimetres under 6'5" with long legs and arms, I can't ride much seat to bar drop or I get neck pain so I had to geek out my stem :( now I can ride for 100km without too much trouble though. I'm going to go to a 110mm stem soon and compact bars to tweak it a bit though.

Woah, 10.6kg is amazing for this!

My Izoard comes in at 12.5kg, with pretty much stock parts. Got all new housing and tape for it, so expect pics tmw.

Update on the Izoard. The final two things are the RX100 aero pedals, and Ill find a matching pair of rims, either a Mavic, or the Velocity.
