Certainly looks it from the seams on the lugs and fork. If they are bonded, what do they use? I'm just comparing the construction to my 1992 Giant Cadex (alloy lugs / carbon tubes). One thing's for sure, they look the business.
Yes they were the first to introduce bonded aluminium frames, see info: Vitus info

I wonder if a bike is allowed to look so good?
It’s more like our thoughts are thinking us than we are thinking them.

My Vitus 992 OVOID... Have had it for a year and bought it during my travels in Europe (France). It has a mixture of Shimano 600 & 105 components, Mavic Rims and Conti Ultra Sport Rubber. It rides like a dream although I only ride it on the odd occasion as I would like to keep it in great condition for many years to come.... What do you guys think??

Looks VG/Mint condition. A small size 992 in WA recently sold quickly for $1000.00, theres a 979 med size in Sydney for sale (AT) $1300.00, your model in the US are up to $1800.00. Check the RHS fork for a lightly etched letter A, if it has this you are really laughing.

WOW!! Considering what I have spent on it seems like I could make myself a tidy profit. I only paid 50 bucks for the frame. There are quite a few of 979's and a couple of 992's kicking about from time to time in France and the EU in general for a lot less than the prices you have quoted. Mine is a "54 BTW... No "A" on the fork unfortunately... What does the "A" mean?

The "A" was lightly etched into some of the hand made pro frames. Not many around apparently.
