Melbourne to Lake entrance race??

Postby stevendavid75 » Wed Jan 09, 2008 4:26 pm

Hi all,
I just received some older Australian cyclist magazines and was interested in a race from Melbourne to Lakes Entrance, looks like it first ran in 1948, I have never heard of it, does anyone know much about the race, how long it lasted??

Was also thinking of providing an interesting snippet or 2 as I make my way through the mags so stay tuned if at all interested.

That must have been some race. I'd like to read the article too. The Australian Cyclist was a fantastic magazine and is such a great resource for guys wanting to understand that era of cycling.
