Time to pay everybodies favourite game

I've had this frame for a while and have never been too fussed with its origins. But last night I was giving it an overhaul and noticed some significant markings that someone may recognise.

Image
Serial Number 1248. There is a II Marked above serial and a faint 'N' or 'Z' before the number

Image
Again a 'N' or 'Z' under the chainstay(this also appears on fork steerer)

Image
Seat cluster, wrap around stays

Image
Drop outs, no markings.

If anyone recognises these markings, particularly the Z or N, I'd be interested to what they are

Thanks

Hi ben-is-fixed, the hacksaw cuts on the chainstay and steerer may have been done at Mascot Cycles ( Sandblasters & Painters Carlton Victoria).
As Mascots could have up to 30 frames on the floor on any given day, every frame was given an individual I.D to avoid mixups.
If the makings were done at Mascots your frame may be a Cecil Walker or a Hillman. If you contact Barry at Hillman Cycles he may be able
to confirm the serial number.

Cheers
