But I'd be wearing a little vintage number if I had one!
I'm drawing the line at toe straps though.
.....also on the lookout for a vintage jersey this year

The "Cataluna" would look good on you, also the "1935 world champs"spinner wrote:Individuals are responsible for their own scones, I reckon

Any ideas on what sort of shoes you wear with toe clips? If i'm going to that level i can't wear ordinary runners .

And does anyone know of a source for 28 x 1 3/8 Westwood rims? I've got a mid 50s Healing on the go for the show but the original rims may not be usable.

Hopefully my brother will be doing it as well and i might be able to persuade him to do the same. This is a link o've found for vintage look jerseys http://www.cycles-marcarini.com/?mode=m ... age&page=2.

I had my toe straps on last time, and I still use them now! if they were good enough for Shaun kelly they are good enough for me. I think it's funny when the other riders laugh at me,I caught up to, and was was riding in a bunch where I didn't know anyone one morning with the old Gitane and I had my Renault jersey on and someone said look out theres "Retro man" I got quite a kick out of it. Pity there are not more like minded people who could ride with me on a regular basis wearing old kit and riding period bikes, I do it all the time cause it's the only gear I have anyway. I now have a 80's Puch mistral as well and I ride them both and love every minute of it!

Just my luck. Im off to Kawana waters for the Queensland state dragon boat championship on friday, don't get back home till sunday night. Yeah the carbon boys are Ok I have never had one laugh at me seriously that I know of anyway. There are still a couple of guys from Murwillumbah that still race on steel, so they are not finished yet as a race stead. I would love a nice Bianchi sempre carbon but the money box is empty, all I can do is dream and drool. So i will just soldier on with my relics.

They look about 30 years old.
Website has been amended to include this year's event & includes online registration.
A few more tweaks to come, when I figure out how!

I still have these. Even the original laces, and my old club jersey is here somewhere
Only issue is the cleats are too worn to grip the pedal and are near impossible to find. I'd bet there are hundreds lying around in old shops and warehouses. Now I just need a bike!

@fitz, those cleats are still around, even ones to fit new shoes, i saw some the other night on yellow jersey (though finding it would be pretty tricky, man that site is poorly designed).
