Well
Five flyers up in the local bike shops down here now. I hope you get some entrants from them. I would love to get the vintage scene going here. Im sick of riding on my own all the time. Theres got to be others like me around.

I'm heading down too with my Tom Wallace and unrestored Ashby, it'll be a dress rehearsal for the L'Eroica!

Just a quick update re Eroica course. Spinner and i rode the bottom section of the 130 klm course today in absolute glorious winter conditions. QLD winter that is 14 to 22 degree. This really is beautiful classic cycling country , undulating back country roads with a great mixture of bitumen and character building strade bianche.Oh how i love those two gravel pinches on Jam Pot Creek road. No flats to report only the shriek of L,eroica on completion of the final climb.Oh and if there are any race orientated enthusiasts out there the current fastest time posted from the bottom bollards on Gyndier Drive out to the age care facility at Cooroy is 35 minutes 22 seconds on a Ken Evans.I,m expecting a post from Idrcycles very shortly Ha Ha.Oh and you can be assured that the venue for this years show and shine is absolutely perfect. Spinner and i had a very sucessful meeting with the marina manager on Friday , followed by a glass of red on the marina deck very professional way to do business, I,m going to join Idrcycles on the Saturday morning mini Eroica in Tweed atire on a classic BSA that is by no means lightweight. Maybe you,d like to join us ?

Challenge accepted cotterpin!! And i've finally got my outfit just about sorted, i'm actually going to be in brown corduroy rather than tweed but it's going to look brilliant.

Man this year is going to be bigger than Ben Hur, i'm like a kid at christmas and it's still over a month away! :D

I should add that Noosa Eroica day inadvertently happens to be on the same day as Pomona 'King of the Mountain'!

Yesterday, Cotterpin & I had a meeting with the event organisers; if we can all be in Pomona by about 8.30am,
we will be allowed to ride under the start/finish of King of the Mountain & use the section of closed road up to the base of Mt. Cooroora.

Expect this sector to be reminiscent of the Mur de Huy in Belgium's 'La Flèche Wallonne'......
except maybe not lined with screaming, beer drinking Belgians at that time of the day.... 8)

There's plenty of screaming and beer drinking in Pomona, especially around KOM time :D . You and Cotterpin deserve awards Spinner, this is sounding like an absolutely incredible event.

Wow Idrcycles . Were going to look the part. I,ve just scored the finest 3/4 tweed leather bum patch cycling threads brand new with the tag still attatched . Made in Australia by RISTO NOVA from possibly early sixties. I know your going to be jealous. Cheers Cotterpin

DAMN DAMN DAMN! Took the freshly restored Lawrencia out for it's first run and had a crack at the gyndier to topaz st section, very sketchy on the dirt downhills but was going really well and then my left crank arm came off  . Still managed bang on 36 minutes, gonna have to go back soon with the Mercier and get it done properly!

Only a month left now!!

Oh and i forgot to say, after riding to cooroy today there's no way i'm doing the Mini Eroica on the Healing, those downhills with only a coaster brake? . Not sure what i'll do, might just ride the mini on the Mercier with matching jersey and change for the show, or find another bike of a suitable style with rim brakes.

Been trying to register all day and it finally worked, yay! Looks like it will be a bit tight getting my bikes ready in time but it should happen.

Also, looking for feedback, do you reckon this would work as a 'tweed bike' with flipped north road bars and a Brooks B17? I'll probably also swap the not particularly attractive cranks for some older steel ones, maybe even cottered.
