No, it's series 1 Suntour Superbe, it's getting that gruppo except for the Sugino cranks & early Suntour Brakes, wheels are 27" (thanks pentlandexile for the super duper wheelset), seatpost is a Zeus aero one, quill is mid/late kalloy, bars are either Sakae TdF bend or Sakae Randonneur (the TdF bend are on their way), the whole cockpit may be a little low for comfort, so once the bars are here I'll check.

Had thought about full Zeus build but even with all my contacts I couldn't put a full matching gruppo & the Zeus stuff can be a little cantankerous at times.

Hard to tell, it looks like the lens needs a clean :P .

It looks good, there's something about full chain cases that looks really nice.

slightly better pic :p

the chain guard has some tears near where it buttons but thankfully the front end is all good. Wonder if I can sew patches on to the rear end so I can close it shut again?

My 1990 or thereabouts Tarini Prima. Got it on ebay as a frame and fork early last year, built it up for the Noosa L'Eroica show with loose headset and wheels that looked ok but weren't ridable. Took until last Thursday for me to finally sort the headset and swap the wheels. Tange 2 tubes, VERY heavy and doesn't like climbing but rides pretty well overall, and hey, it looks GREAT so who cares how it rides :D .

EDIT: and yes i know the seatpost is disgusting, i promise i will polish it so it doesn't continue to drag the rest of the bike down.

It would not be at all strange if history came to the conclusion that the perfection of the bicycle was the greatest achievement of the nineteenth century.

Is it running early 105? Different, practical but I bet the hard core fanatics have a coronary. I like.

Hey ldr I can't see anything wrong with the seatpost on the Tarini, it holds the seat up doesn't it????? That I like too.

Well that's true, but it will look a lot nicer once it's cleaned up and i've had at it with some autosol, everything looks better shiny :D .

The shed door could do with a bit of a spruce up too haha.

Was that question about my Spezzotto? Yes it's running original early 105, why would the hard core fanatics have a coronary as it's the original equipment?

As an Italian bike you would expect Euro gruppo, yes Benotto's came out with Shimano Arabesque but that was a slightly earlier period, I suppose alot of the stuff coming into Oz would have been fitted out by the shop or the distributor, guess I was surprised to see 105 of that vintage on an Italian bike. It's a bit like seeing 600 tri-colour on a late model Italian frame, yep they did it but you just expect to see Italian components.

I personally have no issues about early 105 or that it was fitted to your frame, just that it wasn't what I expected to see, wasn't even sure I was seeing right.

I bought the bike some years ago directly from Europe with the 105 in place so the 105 was NOT fitted in Oz. It could have been retro-fitted with 105 while still in Europe in the early to mid 1990s however I seriously doubt it. Regardless of what the purists might think I believe that it's the original fitting.

This is one I've just built to send to one of my son's in Tas.
The frame is Columbus SLX with a mix of Campagnolo and Shimano equipment dating from early 70's to early 90's.
Cheers

Funnily enough, the 600 tri-colour on my Tarini came off a Columbus MAX tubed 'Cicli Cocchi' (as far as i can tell, the Italian equivalent of Tom Wallace, Cecil Walker et al, just a local bike shop brand).
