Ok a look at my fleet-

First the daily commuter-

Malvern Star Kenetic Touring

my back up commuter-

Repco Vantage Touring

the weekend 'go-fast' bike-

Vertex CR1 Guy Leech Signature

Not pictured- the Repco Superlight that I'm buying from munga, will take photos & post when it's finished.

Also not pictured is my 95 Giant CFR Pro-Series as I'm not sure that bikes built in the 90's are 'retro' just yet, but that's just my opinion.

Still a work in progress...will be swapping the 27" wheels for 700c soon, 6spd free-wheel or cassette (depending on rear hub) and an indexed 600 rear mech, hate the friction shifting.

I've just joined this forum to help choose a new bike after a considerable lay-off. What I realised is that my old bike is apparently now not my old race bike but a retro classic!

No photos, I'll take some and put them up. It's a custom made Kerry Hopkins road bike, Reynolds 731 OS tubing. Red 'cause it's faster. It was built about 1992 or so, 60cm frame from memory, with mostly Shimano 600 gear plus Campy Chorus hubs and simplex downtube shifters. 105 RD a few years old as the original 600 just wore out. Cinelli stem and bars. A lot of the gear was moved over from my previous Daccordi. I raced it for about 5 years and then when my second daughter came along just didn't have the time - it's been spasmodically used for social riding ever since.

I've been doing about 3 rides/week (2 x 30k and 1 x 70k) for the last month or so to gradually wake my legs up a bit. Really enjoyed getting back on the bike, and with info from this forum and others have purchased a new bike this morning (Specialized Roubaix Comp 2012).

Don't quite know what to do with the Hopkins now, I've had it for 20 odd years and probably done well over 100 000 kms on it. There seem to be a few retro-rides going on, maybe that will be its future, apart from hanging on the wall as an ornament!

Hi everyone.

My name is Glenn and I am new to this forum, though I have read many posts that popped up in Google searches in the past. (Very helpful)
I love old Steel, lugged frame bikes and have owned quite a few. My current pride and joy is this 1984 Berretto, Built in Brisbane by Brett Richardson.

I have recently converted to Shimergo by installing Campagnolo Veloce Ergo Brifters.
I have documented it here in my new Blog...

Finally managed to build up my Concorde which I purchased in Canada last christmas.

Current build is campag super record group, with a ring in zues seat post and stronglight 99 cranks. Original plan was to use some 3T superleggero bars, but the stem ended up being 26.4mm clamp rather than 26.0. Then tried some Cinelli 'Giro D'Italia, didn't fit, Criterium, didn't fit, settled with Campione del Mondo. The saddle was trashed when I picked it up with padding etc missing. I filled in the missing padding with silicon (on the assumption that if it's good enough for breast implants, it's good enough for my backside to rest on) then recovered it (rather poorly I must add) with some brown leather. Still yet to build up some high flange nuovo record hubs to finish. Also awaiting the arrival of a replacement shift lever, as there are 2 LHS levers on there at the moment.

Been on two rides so far, the first a mix of about 15km dirt road and equal sealed (why the bikes a bit dirty), and another this morning when I broke a spoke about 10km from home.

This wouldn't look out of place on a certain saturday loop... Although I'm not sure Munga could bear it!

With that rear derailleur shouldn't it be ShimagTour? Just for laughs you could try and fit in some SRAM bits :) .

Well, it is a Suntour Superbe, so I call it Supergo. Or was that Sunagnolo.

All I know is, it works real good.
