Looks good dan, except the decals aren't quite my cup of tea.

And your kojima looks nice too vanbree, is that powdercoated or paint?

Thank you, Gary. I had an offer from a fellow forum member that I couldn't refuse. The DuPont paintwork has to be seen to be believed.

The Rossin's have an enviable ride quality reputation and I bet yours is fantastic to ride Dan. The Rossin colour schemes and quality also seems to be appreciated by many. Yours seems to be made of SLX so it must be one of Rossin's top bikes.

I have indeed.

Did 50-odd km today - very comfortable. Needs a few adjustments, but all in all pretty happy with it ;)

Here is something that may be a bit of history, or maybe not.
I bought the frame, fork and headset 18 months ago and have been building it up over time. Rode it fixed (48/18) 3for the Melburn Roobaix a few weeks back and had an excellent time.
It is badged as a Hillman, but they don't think it is one of theirs - wrong serial number in the wrong place. I have had an opinion that the decals may date from the 60's

The name on the top tube might say it all - but I have no idea how legitimate or otherwise it might be

Any one able to help?

Rory

Dancelli. Gipiemme Sprint Group set. 57cc top tube. Bought this bike from someone in Germany earlier this year. Cost $85.00 in shipping and a $260.00 to buy. Bought new decals immediately thinking that bike would need complete re-paint. Arrived dirty but once cleaned and serviced, turned out to be much better than I could hope for. New bar tape, new hoods for brake levers, new saddle and replaced wheels from singles to clinchers.
Michele Dancelli raced during the late 60's to late 70's. He was team captain of Molteni while Eddy Merckx was there. His most famous win Milan- San Remo, the first Italian to win a major race in nearly 20 years. It was called the Italian curse. Molteni rode Colnagos, Ernesto was so pleased that at last an Italian had won a rce that he adopted the clover leaf symbol from the Dancelli family crest as Colnagos corporate symbol. Early Dancellis were re badged Colnagos.

Very nice track bike singlespeedscott. I would go with the Hill Bros. assessment that it's not one of theirs but it does look good with their decals. I would have thought that it was a 70's decal.

I've had a couple of track bikes with Hillman decals that weren't Hillmans. Took the bikes to Hillman's and they weren't phased by another frame having their logo on it.

Wow, you've done your homework. It's a very nice bike and a good price too. I think the red tyres work with the decal colour.

Another 2 very nice and different bikes. The Detto looks to be in great condition and such a nice colour scheme and the Malvern Star is absolutely fantastic and a great buy for $70.

Any more instalments?

Porsche FS Mountain Bike and Porsche R Road bike.
The porsche Fs was $12,000.00 when new here in Aus, but 5,000.00 in US - the Aus dollar was trading around 50 cents to 60 cents. This is a 1999 model with a Sachs Quartz group set. When first released it was criticized for being too heavy, I think they thought it was a road bike. About two years ago a bike mag did a retrospective on it and claimed that it was one of the best bikes ever made. It certainly was a revolutionary bike at the time, it influenced all the top end bikes, even till today. Designed by Porsche and built by Votec, they received medals for industrial design in Germany. This bike is the most stable and surefooted thing I've ever ridden, it excels on any slope.
The porsche R was $8,000.00 when new in 2002. I replaced the original group set last year wth a new Ultegra . A light and fast bike. As good as any carbon bike I've ridden.
No I'm not stupid enough to have bought them new! I bought the FS about 5yrs ago, and came across the R 2yrs ago.
