Her are a few close ups of what I think are 'quirky' frame designs on an early 90's (?) Raleigh 'Amazon' MTB. Frame is 'Guaranteed' built with Chromoly main tubes by Raleigh. Components are low-end Shimano Altus/ Acera, and the bike is quite heavy.
Forward facing seat-clamp on lugged seat tube junction. Heavy-duty lugged head-tube houses 1 1/8" threaded fork steerer. EDIT: Forgot to mention those 'ribbed' cable-stops, above
Lugged bottom bracket housing with sealed cartridge BB. The seat (by Selle Royal) looks like a forerunner to the SDG 'I-Beam' concept.
But the quirkiest part of this frame would have to be the 'abridged' chainstay 'bridge'. What the.....?
With its horrible dead-straight handlebars (Doh! No pic!) color matched to the metallic British racing green frame, I am not sure if this is British design at its quirkiest, or the Chinese 'havin' a laugh'
