Re: Olmo Road Bike BuildAwesome!
I'm going to use those tyres on my steel road bike. Good one, Peter 2012 Jim Bundy

Re: Olmo Road Bike BuildThanks guys!
Only thing I’m not 100% on is the bar tape – as Robert said, the logo just sticks out a bit too much and also it is quite thick with the gel included. Makes it hard to wrap tightly and difficult with the end caps. I use the standard black Cinelli tape with Fizik gel inserts on my other roadies, easier to wrap and the logo is much more subtle. Might have a look at the Rivendell tape or someone else? Also, the front tyre is on the wrong way so the hub logo is backwards Brendan
Re: Olmo Road Bike BuildI love this stuff for retro look. Much thinner too. http://www.fubarbicycleproducts.com/fub ... rtape.aspx
Re: Olmo Road Bike Buildbrendan this is prolly nothing but let me know how those tb14s go. someone suggested to me to be aware of brake useage on those rims, apparently they wear out super fast. Heresay really.
Re: Olmo Road Bike BuildHow's the bike going?
Just thought I'd let you know 1500km and the Veloflex Masters are toast. The rear is all cut up from the glass all over Sydney roads. Pity, they rode and looked fantastic. Cheers, Peter 2012 Jim Bundy

Re: Olmo Road Bike BuildAhh bummer - I'll have to see how far mine go (both the rim wear and tyre wear!). Don't have an odometer on this bike, but I've probably only done 250-300kms on it since the build.

Re: Olmo Road Bike Build
Cut up is fine. How many flats? Is the canvas showing through? ![]()
Re: Olmo Road Bike Build
I mean cut up as in the last cut exposed the tube so it expands out the tear when inflated. Only punctured the rear once but had to finish the ride with a bank note covering the hole. Canvas not showing, I'm going to get another tyre and refit them later and see if I have more luck - they're great looking and handling tyres. Ordinarily I'm not too concerned with cuts in tyres until I start to get regular flats, like 3 in a week. Cheers, Peter 2012 Jim Bundy
