Sometimes cheaper to buy a used bike complete as a donor, and cough up for new cables cassette and chain.Group set, wheels , bars, stem, seat post etc... to boot. Flip the frame for a few Lazy $$$, and that will cover chain, cable , bar tape etc...Carriage wrote:What's the cost like? I assume you save on frame but pay more by buying groupset etc aftermarket?
I'm a tight ar$e on a limited budget, but always manage to cobble the bit together for a minimum expense.
I'm just fine tuning a commuter that I built for a total of $12 out of pocket expense. Won't go into detail here as it's Digger dan's thread, and I don't want to thread drift it for him.
Oh and to bring it back OT, pleased to hear you love your new ride DD .
