I think there's tradies coming in on Saturday. :(

On a sale of 1 to 10 I would give it 9.8 ... there was 12 drops of rain before the sun came out.
Personally I sold a mountain of stuff and bought a new mountain of stuff including an unmolested 1939 Malvern Star 3 star, a couple of pre WW11 (my collecting niche) race frames, a Brooks 'hairpin' saddle in excellent condition for my turn of the century roadster and a mitt full of smaller goodies.
I think my day was representative of the others who were there: Brilliant.

Next time can you just say it was a shocker and not at all worth it. Then those of use who missed out wont feel like we missed out

I was very interested to see that MS bike and compare to my own frame on the day ( identical !! ) seeing the original parts filled in some
blanks for me.
Bought a couple of parts which was good, this swap meet can only get better.
Cheers, Phil

Thanks for the handlebars you sold me! Will go well with my old Austral frame (I hope)

That 3 Star Malvern Star was indeed a great buy. Lots of potential with that beauty.

I have a fair bit of old MTB (late eighties) Deore / Deore XT stuff and things like Araya 27" wheels, road bike parts from around the same era etc..would that be okay to bring? Stuff that's too good to throw as I don't really need it. Just would like to know so I don't bring it then have to haul it all back home.

Disclaimer: I am a regular seller not an organiser of the event.

Anything bike related seems to be okay, and if you price it fairly it will sell. The more sellers the better the variety of bike "stuff" :D

You need to register with Abbotsford cycles via email and pay a $10 sellers fee on the day.

Another bump. With 17 sellers listed should be a day for bargains.

I have been advised to ring Charlie Farren, and I was only following the above instructions, sometimes an email
is best when dealing with a business as it's a record of your communication, anyway it's all good

I referred to Charlie Farren, she and her husband Paul are involved with the Vintage Cycle club who are running the swap meet, and yes they have lots of sellers 8)

It's on again! The next Vintage Cycle Club of Victoria swap meet is on for Saturday 21st March. 9am to 12noon - at the rear of Abbotsford Cycles in Swan Street Richmond.

If it's half as good as previous meets it will be huge! Personally I have loads of goodies that need re-homing.

If you're keen to sell, drop me a line and I will reserve you a spot. Be quick though as places are filling fast.

Of course hordes of buyers are very welcome too. These swap meets have become a great social event and an tremendous opportunity to find vintage bikes and parts at
great (non eBay!) prices.

Cheers.
