My mistake. BQ says the museum bike listed as his Goodwood ride is 650 but the photos on the day show him on 700c. I can take a photo of the article if anyone wants a look.

Saronni's 'Goodwood' bike did have 650c wheels. The bike on display in the Ernesto's Colnago Museum has a shorter head tube and probably has 700c wheels. It is this bike I have based my component choice on.
To be totally accurate, my frame is a Colnago Mexico (most probably an 1982 build date) frame with a flat fork crown where the Colnago museum's 'Saronni' Bike, that has given me my component inspiration, is a Colnago Nuovo Mexico Profil frame which has crimped top and down tubes as well as a sloping fork crown. My frame is a slightly lighter shade of red too. I'm quite happy with my frame and I am aware of the differences.
My bike isn't quite finished as I will be fitting a Concor 'Confort' saddle and a white topped, alloy TA bidon cage in the next few days to emulate Saronni's bike components. I am also chasing a pair of Colnago toe clips to complete the component fit out. You may have noticed the 'nut and bolt' seat post binder bolt and cloth bar tape.
Of course not Scott. Your recollection of the 650c wheels helps to track which bike was used when. Saronni was a great rider but not in the same league as others of his era yet he has this connection with Ernesto Colnago that not many other riders have had. It's such an interesting topic as the "Saronni' paint scheme is such an iconic scheme for Colnago frames. I wonder just how many actual real Saronni bikes there are? I have been trying to find photos of Beppe Saronni on his bike(s) but it's interesting just how few there are considering the 80's was not that long ago.
I have the RIDE magazine article featuring a Saronni Colnago. It was written by Warren Meade and shows the bike held in the Colnago Museum. The one with the Campagnolo 50th Anniversary gruppo. This was the article that inspired me to put my bike together the way I did.

Giuseppe Saronni wasn't to bad a rider. He is actually ranked as the 24 best rider of all time.

Have to say I'm impressed with the shipping time on these frames. I was expecting to wait another few weeks.
Bummer that I have 3 weeks of assessment due in the next 2 weeks....... No idea when I'm going to have time to play with them.

I see the master piu above has the curved fork. This intrigues me because I thought it was only the earlier masters that had the curved forks ? But those decals / paint looks more recent ?
Any one shed light on this ?
Difficult call as both are nice rides but would ride the Tecnos more often as I don't like to temp fate too much with the risk of puncturing the Tubs on the Master
