Picked this up today. Anyone know what kind of year or model it is?

Keep me in mind if you have a Colnago fork. The fork on this is Reynolds.

Could be early to mid 90s Super Pui.

Hi utedeej,

Your frame could be a Colnago Super Piu like this one that TDC is suggesting:

Image

This image is from a 1994 catalogue but there are some differences such as the paint scheme. It looks like your frame has round tubes so I would guess that it's not a 'Master' - I'm guessing a Super Piu'.

Gary, utedeej's has the simpler, earlier seattube cluster

Yeah - you're right Munga - I changed my guess from an Elegant to a Super Piu.

IDing Colnagos is some form of black art! I dont think its a Super Piu. I had a look at my 94 and it's different in the details and the NDS chainstay has SUPER PIU painted in massive letters on it :D (awesome powers of deduction at work here). The head tube lug is much more ornate on yours. See photos of a really dirty Super piu.

I still think its first half of the nineties, given the internal brake routing. What is the underside of the BB like. This can help with identifying Colnagos, as does the the art decor paint (I think) as this was not available on all models

Thanks all.

Yes, the seat lug is the same as the super piu.

TDC, you are right, the head tube lugs are more ornate, more like my master olympic.

The bottom bracket shell is similar to yours, with Colnago in caps, but it has a cable guide?

Will try and take more pics of bb, etc tomorrow.

master piu? my late 90's / early 00's AD14 master x light had cable guides and the fancy lugs, but the later shot-in style seatstays and of course the gilco tubes. it also had the same bb as TDC's Super Piu.
not sure if master piu's had round tubes?

So, couple more pics, but I still am in the dark.

Has same bottom bracket as my Master Olympic. Have also added better pic of seat tube lug. It also has semi horizontal short dropouts and the downtube is oversized.

Yes. I've been investigating Superissimo's thinking it may be the real identity of the frame in question. I think you've found the answer.

I must say I'm not a fan of those seatstays.

Thankyou linesman, thankyou ballboys. Looks like a winner.

I agree Scott, they seat lugs do look a bit agricultural and looks like a previous owner has tried a bit of touch up paint in the clover.

Saw this today and it made me a bit curious. Seller says calls it a replica, but that's a bloody good replica paint job by the looks.
Anyone have any opinions??
Its too far away for me to check it out in person.

That's a lot of effort to go to painting it in the Colnago style for a replica.

My thoughts exactly....
And a big head tube for 54cm.
Methinks Leigh doesn't know lots about this bike.
