And did some clear coat as well. Not sure they need a second coat, I might just hang them in the spare room.

Also did some polishing of various bits. Like a NOS 26.6 campag post.

Big spare room! You did a great job of the frames. Applying the decals can be a bit tricky to get them aligned with each other and parallel to the bars. Very impressive.

There may be one that's a degree or two off ;) But after the first ride there will be dirt, grime, stone chips - its there to be ridden so I'm not overly concerned.

I'm a big fan of that Viner. Looks like you did a great job with the paint of both, well done.

Thanks James. I'm pretty pleased with it too. It won't be on a Raturday until the new year, though

Thanks Mr. Monkey. It appears I may have to sell the Europa, though, to fund a few drunken eBay purchases....

Nothing to see here - frames are curing in the garage, all the bits have arrived and It'll jsut be a case of putting them together upon my return from holidays.

sort of vaguely on topic here is a piccy of a nice retro Viner that i saw when i was in Italy this August.
I like those brakes, must be campag or modolo perhaps.

There's the black stem! I particularly like the bell, although perhaps not too functional in it's present guise ;)

that would be early 90s viner. still no cutouts on the lugs but defs a full campy group. look at that nice chorus/c-record headset.

ok, so maybe I built the Europa yesterday.... turns out its 27", not 700C - always had long reach tektros on it, so never noticed. The stock 600 calipers are about 4mm shy though. I could run skinnies and have the shoe overlap the lip of the rim, or buy ridiculously expensive offset brake shoe holders (out of stock everywhere), but I think I'll find some 27" wheels for it - will fill the frame out nicely I think.

Here you go...

Image

Lots of clearance and 3-4mm of shoe overlap.

Thanks Scott. They look great, and are completely useless at the moment! Need to decide whether I build 27" wheels and keep it, or fit some tektros and sell it. Foiled by caliper reach, who'd have thought...
