Bates "Repco" club sport
frame 2542 forks 882 = 3424 ( I expected better but its not much lighter than a Speedwell roadster frame  ) I note the 5 Star owners are still too embarrassed to post up :D

It's such a nice frame to ride too. Unfortunately it really to small for me.

The lugless 5 star I once had was, from memory , around 2100g. Not bad for a 24" frame, built in 1949!

Just got my Jim Bundy frame back from Peter Bundy, after he brazed in a new set of rear tips. On my none too accurate kitchen scales it came in a 2,000 and 680 for the frame and forks. Not sure of date made or the tube material, but 700C rims and aero levers says late 80s and probably some sort of columbus tubes.

I thought it felt a little lighter, but perhaps that's only in comparison to my Superlite.

Serotta Legend Ti, 349th produced so I'm guessing circa 1994/95 unless someone more informed knows.

Frameset 57square, triple butted: 1360g with CK headset & barrel adjusters
Uncut Reynolds Ouzo: 420g

Hi,
Thought I'd add a couple more:

Bare frame: Detto Pietro fully chromed, mid 1980's, Columbus something or other, 54cm = 1919 grams
matching fork, full chrome = 683 grams

Bare frame: Hetchins "Magnum Bonum", late 1950's, reynolds 531, 53cm seat tube, 55cm tt = 1984 grams

Frame only 1850g, forks are not of the same quality but were the only full chrome ones I had that sort of matched.
No Idea what the tubing is (or who the manufacturer is), but it is nice a shiny :D
One day I'll get around to building it.
Didn't look so promising when I found it.:

I like the Campagnbolo Victory groupset. A seriously underated group in mind.

Yep, if you raced, you had to have Record back then.

Just like everyone now thinks they need Red, or DA now (when 105, Ult or Rival are just fine).

Actually that was the market Campagnolo was aiming Victory at when it was introduced.

Victory was supposed to replace Nuovo Record whilst Record, what we now call C Record was meant to replace Super Record.

Jim Bundy built Lennie Rogers 60cm frame in Reynolds 531 - Frame 2170g Fork 800g. Both bare plus a few too many coats of enamel. Will put up some pictures after I've put it together.

Oh, so have you got it painted up Josh?

Anyway, heres a bunch.
54cm square Kestrel 200 frame weighs in at 1225g with the original Kestrel carbon 500g fork
Image

53cm square Kestrel 4000 at 1645g with the matching aluminium Tange fork at 535g
Image

53cm square Peugeot Carbon Pro suprisingly only 1300g with the original SLX fork at 665g. I only found out it was SLX from the rifling when I had a look up the fork hole.
Image

57 square Bundy frame with some sort of Columbus at 1930g with a SLX fork at 680g
Image

57ST/59TT Centurion Triahlon Master(Tange 1) at 2.3kg with the original 700g fork.

For old Raleigh fans a few sobering facts.

For all those with old Nottingham built Raleigh's from Europa to Gran Prix with the classic wrap around seat stays, stamped steel ends and the forks with the front headlamp mount screw boss on the right hand fork blade I stripped down one and measured the frame at 2570 grams and forks at 840 grams. Classics they are but not lightweights. Fully built up as a 10 speed with alloy wheels and cottorless cranks its still 13.8KG

Interested to compare to a Raleigh Professional I have which is a 531 frame & forks Worksop built with the CC cut out in the bottom bracket cast ends with no mudguard eyelets etc. Measure the bare frame at 1920 gram and forks at 750 gram. Not as much difference as you would think. All built up as a 12 speed with alloy singles and alloy cottorless cranks it's still 10.6Kg all up.

Makes you realise there has been some progress in bicycles over the last 40 years.

This frame bought off the forum a while back, unknown manufacture, Columbus dropouts, looks like decent build, 1840g frame, 650g fork, 54cm square.

Ciombola 55cm Dedaccai EOM 16.5 tubing. 1592g.
It had a Columbus Carve carbon fork (about 560 g with crown race) but will soon have an all chrome number (which is about 810g :( seems a bit of a mismatch but will do for now)

What is with the drop outs? Lugged as well.

Sorenson Reynolds 653 frame from sometime in the early 90's, Reynolds website has a date range of 91-94 for the tubing, previous owner stripped the chorus stuff of it before ebaying it.
49 cm CC seattube
52.5 cm Top tube
126 rear OLD
Frame 1760g
Fork 640g
Total 2.4K

Now just need to get a headset & front rim to do the build up from the spares laying about.
