Just came up with this old 'Satellite', mostly complete bar wheels but quite rough.
Apparently built by a 'Slim' Ward in Greenacre.
It has a Sturmey Archer 3-speed gear shifter, and the chainwheel has the word 'PHOENIX' worked into it.
I know very little about this machine, and can't seem to find much info.
My guess (and that's all it is) is early/mid 1960s...
Anyone have any info?

I don't care if it's a $20 Huffy or a $20k Colnago, as long as you're riding, and you're happy.

Slim is a mate of my dads. My dad is 90 and Slim would be that as well. He's a great bloke and was a great bike rider in his day.
My dad and his brothers lived at Greenacre, as did Slim and his family. As far as I know Slim wasn't a bike builder, they were sponsored by Blackmans bike shop at Punchbowl.
I can get you his phone number if you want to have a chat to him? My dad would have it.
Like most old timers he doesn't have the internet.

Slim did build frames. He didnt braze, he silver soldered. He did also sell stock standard frames rebadged with his name on it. Yours looks to be one of the stock ones. Still a great frame and great original paintwork. Cheers.

Well, I popped an old wheelset into her yesterday, and did manage to ride her for a short distance.
It was never going to be a long ride, stuck in 3rd and with no brakes.
But she looks nice, and the potential is there. She reminds me a lot of my first real bike, a 1960(?) Speedwell 'Flash'.
There's a lot of work to be done, but I will definitely be keeping her.
