Bosomworth and Colnago frames back from a respray

These are two frames just back from a respray. Both frames were very worse for wear before. This is the general state of the Colnago before. It has Columbus brand forks with a dove on the crown, rather than the original Colnago ones.

The Bosomworth was in a better state but the visible chrome had peeled badly. Fantastic replica decals were provided by Greg Softley (thanks!) for both bikes

Settle down Roger, fair go, some of us have work to do.

How are we meant to concentrate now?

How big is the Colnago? Looks like as big as they ever got!

What are you planning in building it up with?

Work??? with all these bikes who has time for work?

The Colnago is a 61cm ctc. There is a bigger one on eBay at the moment in Sydney (62cm)

The Colnago is probably (a lot of thought on this last night) going to get a 1st Gen C-record with Super Record brakes. I still need to get some C-record cranks though, with the engraved logos.

The 1981 Bosomworth will get Super Record (1981 stamped cranks and RD). I had been intending to fit Dura Ace EX, but the shifters wont fit, so it's getting Campag. It is a 120mm frame (I do wonder if it is actually a 1978 frame, as the serial number can be interpreted in different ways).

The Dura Ace bits I have will have to wait for another frame without braze-on shifters.

And yes, the decals are clear coated.

Someone's gotta say it, so it may as well be me ...

What's a Bosomworth? Are they cheaper by the pair? ;)

Cheers,
Graeme

They look brilliant, digging the colour of the colnago, straight to the pool room I say!

Great paint

Postby PiCO » Sat Aug 16, 2008 5:59 pm

Hey rogerrabbit,

Who (whom) did the paint?

Finished results look fantastic.

I ask as I have an old Cecil Walker that was originally a metallic red – not worth a lot but since resurrection for an eBay buy I ride it all the time.

Next question are they decals or laser cut to shape?

Cheers,

PiCO

Greg Softly made the decals. He trades on Ebay as Cyclomondo. Quality stuff. I think there is someone who can supply Cecil Walker decals, but not sure who.

The paint job is by Peter at Star Enamellers at Bankstown. He is very very good.
