Australian Whippet Bicycle

Postby Steve H » Mon Dec 26, 2016 1:49 pm

Hello to all I have a 1930's Whippet Bicycle which I am trying to find information about without a lot of success.
The bike is in ok condition, a bit of surface rust caused when the bike was left outdoors.
The decals and paint work are still visible" Whippet with a whippet dog at the top next to the W"
Has anyone got a photo of a Whippet bicycle in all original condition I would love to see.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Steve

Whippets (along with most australian made bikes from that era besides the big brands like Malvern Star) are extremely rare, to the point i've never yet seen a photo of one. There's a bloke down south by the name of Warren Meade (i can't remember his handle on here) who is very knowledgeable about the really old stuff, if anyone could help it would be him.

I'd love to see photos of yours regardless of the condition.
When man invented the bicycle he reached the peak of his attainments- Elizabeth West.

I wonder if it is the Australian Whippet cycle you are referring to because my Grandfather Percy Hatton was the creator! We have one at our holiday house......his old home.....now to work out how to post a pic? ?
