Hi All
Looking for any and all thoughts on this 1978 built road bike I picked up last year. Have been sitting on the project for the last few months but now I have the itch again. Really want to be able to restore it to it's original branding.

Seat post: 26.2 but falls through without any resistance.
Gear Set: Shimano 600 1978
Crank: Sugino "Mighty Competition" 52/42
Brakes: Dia Compe 500
Pedals: MKS QU-2K
Hubs: Shimano 1978
Rims: Ukai 27 x 1 1/4
I posted about this last year but got a bit stuck (and the title was a bit misleading) so really hoping to get some more insight.
Many Thanks
Sully

Sorry I can't help identifying it. Nice looking bike though.
Looks fairly typical of a good quality road bike from the late 70s - early 80s era.

Looks somewhat Peugeot, but probably isn't. Definitely late 70's/early 80's era, good quality. Nice long dropouts. Unless the serial number hits on any searches you may never find a builder.
Wow, photobucket is truly awful now with the ads.

Looks like a Miki. I have just obtained a similar bike a 1978 Viscount Sebring, Shimano 500 with Tourney centre pull brakes, Ukai alloy rims, and SR Crankset. The serial number looks the same format as yours M8E07647.
Cheers,
Mick

I have a 1983 MIKI and it looks completely different to this. However the serial number is same format so I think it may be a MIKI. The last number indicates the year so it may be 1972, or possibly 1982. Its possible that 1978 components were put onto a 1982 frame.
