Sticky bar tape residue will not deter. I have the world's largest collection of seashells. I keep it on all the beaches of the world... Perhaps you've seen it?
Post a link to an image of these bars. I have some Nitto bars in my collection somewhere. Not sure what they look like

The top sweeps back towards the rider, and the ramps (the area just behind the brake leavers) are not very steep, 15 degrees, instead of the typical 24-36 degree.

I know it's not in Melbourne but Velo-Orange in Maryland stateside has the noodle bars as well as the Nitto classic ... and they have polished stems for 26mm bars and 1 1/8 forks. I'll be putting in an order soon-ish
