Thanks guys for leaving the bike on...sold this morning...now looking for a good (second hand) road to use as a commuter for around the $1000...
Hi all - I have a 2007 Giant OCR 1 for sale. Full 105. I brought not long ago & its to big (58.5cm). Damn - and it goes so well compared to the old one I had pinched...
Full specs can be seen at Giants website under the 2007 OCR catalogue.
Good for someone 6'4" up...
I'd like to keep the speedo, lights & bike pump but if you really want them...
Its the Black & White version & is in good condition with the usual nicks & scratches on a bike after a couple of years.
$900...
Msg me for any other details or if you want to give me a call.
Ok will now try to attach some pics... Ben
mmm just tried that - no go on posting pics so if anyone msgs me I will email them back the pics...
Thanks all

Hello,
There is a big fat post up the top that says:
MINIMUM 10 POST RULE FOR NEW MEMBERS
Usually I just remove posts from new users and sometimes send a PM if I am feeling nice. This WTS post has a correct title, good. At the time of writing, Canno has 4 posts which is not in accordance with the guidelines.
As there are a number of posts each week in which I have to correct titles or move or take action simply as they are not inline with the guidelines, I need to know if there is a better strategy. The guidelines are there to make it easier (title) and avoid commercial posts or members who sign up only to sell. Look forward to feedback from all.
Cheers
Christopher

Hi Christopher,
I very nearly deleted the thread as soon as I saw Canno's post number, but he has contributed elsewhere and thought I'd let this one stand. His heart seems to be in the right place.
I'm happy with the current arrangement. It's a simple push of the "delete button" when someone is obviously in breach of the guidelines, and I'm pretty ruthless about it normally.
Feedback from other members has told me they are generally happy too. Nobody wants the place to become and impersonal market, where the only reason for joining is to sell off unwanted goods or worse, commercial entities taking advantage of our community.
Oh, and good luck with the sale Canno ....
Cheers,
Graeme

Thanks for letting this one through guys...I ride into the city from Freo on a regular basis and need to get the right bike to do this...
I have been introduced to the site by Gary (Mr ACDC) and have been a regular viewer over the last few months but very limited poster (in fact its the only website I have ever made a post on...!)
Any chance I can upload some pics?
Cheers...Canno

Pity she's too big for me...
I'm happy with the marketplace as it stands, there's usually a mod about to hand out forum discipline if needed.

Hi Graeme (or other mods) - I can happily vouch for Canno, I have the mis-fortune to work with him!
I pointed him to this website a few months ago when we started to discuss cycling (I think it was as I was moving into his old office!)
Cheers,
Gary

LMAO!!! Not guilty your honour!!! I think he bought this before I joined the company! I've only been there since Sept.
Anyway, he's big enough (but not too big judging by the bike sale) to make his own mistakes!
Cheers,
Gary

You can't delete it and we won't. It helps the next guy who wants to sell his bike to set his price and helps the next guy who's buying to know what to pay.
We don't delete threads unless they are offensive.

Graeme

Canno, I am glad I didn't remove your post as it seems you have a lot of influential friends ;)
In my question, I was thinking more generally - there are plenty of new user WTS posts which are seemingly genuine - however not inline with guidelines. Can this section be improved or changed to minimise this? That includes changing the guidelines. The goal is to make it easier and quicker to moderate.
A small secret - posts are infact not deleted rather they are exiled. In some cases new members can redeem themself when they write extremely polite emails or PMs to a mod and say please and thank you a lot :)
Cheers

Not in my opinion - I like it the way it is. It's a simple procedure to remove an offending post, and thankfully, there aren't many of them
Let's just leave it the way it is. The guidelines are simple, even if some people don't read them.
Cheers,
Graeme
