WTB - Brisbane - Brakes to suit 27" rims

Hi Guys,

I am chasing a set of brakes( front and rear calipers) to suit the old steel roadie I am doing up.

As I am using the 27" rims I need a longer drop than the current 49mm fashion.....57mm would be ideal.

I purchased new some BMX side pull brakes but the drop on these is too long.

Prefer good condition.

As promised, some pictures for your perusal:-








Frame is in excellent condition - 6 speed, Shimano SIS indexed, 56cm TT & ST, New tyres and 1 new tube. Bar tape needs replacing, gum hoods average cond. Interested at ~$120

Hi Wazza,

Thanks for posting the pics.

Is the bike branded Shimano, it's difficult to read the decals on the down tube?

Are there any decals which mention the tubing used etc ?

The stickers do say Shimano however by the look of the frame it seems to be a standard "Repco" type construction going by the lugs(no branding). It is no light weight by any stretch of the imagination so maybe about a Traveller/Superlite????
