Hi,
These are brand new (not been on a bike) and vintage (circa1988)
now have another couple of folks, as well making similar offers,
so if you want to make a better offer, let me know.
Cheers,
Brenton

+1 on this Munga.

If you want play games with the pricing, then go play on Ebay. If you want to sell someting and you have price in mind that you would like to get, then list it as such.

For e.g. : WTS - Brisbane - Vintage Shimano Altus LT Derailieurs and Down Tube shifters. $20.00

Don't get me wrong, sometimes an EOI might be the best way (rogerrabbit has sold some very rare/unusual stuff in the past, for example), but fairly common components/framesets?

i'll pass on the levers by the way. $70 can almost pay for a grey centaur crankset for the titanio

As far as I can see an EOI is a bit different to what is happening here....

Make an offer.... oh, sorry, try a higher offer, someone you've never heard of has offered me more.....

In reply,
Sorry, munga are you happy or unhappy with it.
It was strange the way you replied, you must have been
unhappy, that you did not get them for what you wanted, sorry.
$60? with nothing else, no name? is that the offer?
I don't think Dura-ace Levers (circa1988) that are new,
are that common. And well sort after by the retro group.
Just a point, ndc is on this forum, and they will be his,
if he still wants them.
Lark2004/Andrew, your entitled to your opinion,
at least I can put a name to your handle.
Had 3 people making similar offers, at the same time,
and let each know, what the position was,
with the person who was making the offer.
What would you do?
Don't think I was doing anything, un-toward.
Got some very nice stuff, make an offer if you
want it, it's up to you.
Thanks,
BrentonO

Brenton,

I think the point the others are trying to make is that your basically 'auctioning' off the parts between members. The for sale thread of this forum is more for just a straight out sale thread with an asking price for forum members, rather then you auctioning them between members.

As munga and lark have pointed out, if you want the highest price possible, ebay would be a more appropriate medium.

Just my 2c.

cheers jase

Hi Jase or whom-ever,
Well both the Dura-ace, which will be ndc's who is Nathan,
and the Mirage have almost gone, so a couple of people here
have no problems.
Have already helped you (Jase) out, also, at the price you offered.
On the pricing, I have been away overseas for many years,
and away from cycling for 30 odd years, so I am a little rusty
on what things are worth, even to the extent on the newer
equipment. On the New Dura-ace, if I was to use Ebay as a
guide, as it's hard to determine what they sell for, there is
a buy-now sale in the US for A$200, if I asked that, I would
be laughed at, and ignored, I would believe.
Hence, I have asked for offers, from those who are interested
in what I have, and probably will do in the future, if I am not sure.
If someone here is not involved, I don't see how they
should be casting dispersions on what (not correctly) is transpiring (read Lark2004).
I had 3 offers, all parties were informed of the situation, they
reponded, ndc came back with the best, and they are his, that's it.
No auctioning involved, end of story, I leave it at that.
Nuff said,
Enjoy your cycling,
BrentonO

Brenton,

Yep, you indeed helped me out, and i am appreciative of that. But i was just lucky no one else wanted that campy top nut 8) Had someone else wanted it, im quite certain the 'highest bidder' wouldve got it, rather then my 'offer'.

But as you said Brenton, if the involved members are happy, than more power to ya

I'll let the mods decide if it's appropriate for this for sale thread.

See out there mate.

cheers jase :)

Hi Jase,
Supposition, my friend.
On the nut, "if someone else wanted It" I might of had another? (I did!)
and you asked about a Campy bottom bracket set, have a Record 102mm 1.370x24t,
in good nick, if that works for you, PM me, and make your best offer, mate.
So we may see you out there, again, mate.
Enjoy your cycling.
Cheers,
Brenton

Jase ond others,
I see now, you were right, an Ebay auction-re:the Dura-ace, would have had me fair better,
as the same thing, in the US just went for A$118.26, but at least the member here (ndc) faired
better, and I'm happy with that.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWAX:IT
So to the naysayer who said they weren't worth $70..? Snap!
Have used E-bay way back, at it's inception, and was not happy with many of the introduced
methods, and much of the charges, (which became monopolistic) and dealing on there can
become problemistic. They have eased up now, and I may venture back, someday?
(This is only my opinion of Ebay, as I know it works for many, and it makes EBay Co rich.)
For now, will offer my things here, and try to do the best for the members.
I hope to make my dealings here, totally satifactory, for all.
Thanks,
BrentonO

The last ones to go, Campagnolo BB-carbon systems levers,
don't be put off, by the cosmetic labelling, Record/Chorus
they are the same levers, fully reconditioned, working great, and
as new, as you would see from the rubbers (new)
Make a reasonable offer, and if you need more photos,
can supply, or come and see.
One look, and feel and you will know.
Last chance or I give them to my mate (gift).
Cheers,
BrentonO

[mod hat]
G'day all,

just a mod note on this - the current marketplace rules don't require sellers to post an asking price, so BrentonO is quite correct and has done nothing wrong.

Since objections have been raised though, the mods will have a chat about whether this is something we need to review in the future; if anyone has strong feelings one way or the other please feel free to PM myself or the other mods and we'll pass on the message.

We now return to your scheduled programming ;)
