SOLD - Puch Promenade men's 5 speed cruiser, 58cm

Postby Antipodes » Fri Oct 09, 2009 10:56 am

LOCATION: Melbourne (Balwyn North)
PRICE: $50 firm
PAYMENT: On pickup

I have for sale an Austrian-made Puch Promenade 5 speed men's cruiser for sale. I don't know the exact year, but my guess, going on parts and frame, is early '80s.
The frame measures 58cm c-c, with a 57cm top tube.
It's a 5 speed setup with a Shimano Positron push-pull cable shifting system.
I have rebuilt most of the bike, including the headset, both hubs and bottom bracket and replaced both front and back brake cables and housing.
It has Weinmann sidepull brakes and some nice "Puch" features, including the stem, axle nuts, fork crown and bell. It has brazeons for a pump as well as a front dynamo and associated wiring.
The back tyre will need replacing and dependent on your point of view (well, what do you want out of it, a super-true wheel or something good enough to roll on?), perhaps the rear wheel. The shifting is not absolutely perfect, but I haven't well played around with it too much, so I'm sure someone with the time will get it going smoothly.
Good for around town, or fix it up and finish the resto!
Anyway, it's $50, FIRM, so no haggling please. Payment on pickup from Balwyn North, Melbourne. Contact via PM or email at thespeedingtrain at yahoo dot com.
