...but the sense of achievement of riding wheels that you have personally built with your own personal hands and own personal brain is enormous. It is dwarfed only by the surprise that said wheels haven't turned into a mess of taco'd rims and mangled spokes. My bike blog. Long on rumination, rambling and opinion. Why let facts ruin everything?

Re: WTB - MEL - Road Wheels (-1400g)
I ride 25s on the basis that they divide more easily into 100 than 23s.
Re: WTB - MEL - Road Wheels (-1400g)I guess the only thing I can do now is to buy the brass nippples...
I love riding, not training

Mind bottling force skills. I ride 25s on the basis that they divide more easily into 100 than 23s.
Re: WTB - MEL - Road Wheels (-1400g)Wilson - how are the wheels? Built them yet, or are you waiting for holidays before you begin?

Re: WTB - MEL - Road Wheels (-1400g)Did you get the tracking number from the email confirmation? I ordered my stuff from BHS a while ago and it was about 12 days delivery from clicking the order button to arriving at my door.
Done a couple if hundred K on them already. Been meaning to post about them. Neil Norco VFR1 Disc, Merida 903, Mofo Single Speed, Giant MTB, soon to be vintage Gazelle fixie
Re: WTB - MEL - Road Wheels (-1400g)I suspect the Braccianos would've had a good run by now....
Re: WTB - MEL - Road Wheels (-1400g)good things come to those who are patient... these wheels should be at least 200g lighter and more appropriate for Wilson's use... Assuming he gets this postage sorted
Wilson; feel free to PM me your email and any other tracking info you have (like order number) I'll try to get to Brandon for you Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can? - Sun Tzu

Re: WTB - MEL - Road Wheels (-1400g)Patience is a virtue, granted, but Wilson started this journey, for want of a better term, eight weeks ago. I suspect he could've sailed to China and collected them, then sailed home again in that time.
I think that's a bit excessive. All I pointed out was that had he ordered the wheels he originally planned to, he'd be riding them now, and most likely would have been for about seven and a half weeks. But perhaps I'm being caught up in the instant gratification craze of Generation Y.
Re: WTB - MEL - Road Wheels (-1400g)I called them just them and guess what? They didnt even send my order. They refunded all my money and i'll probably never order from them again.
edit* seriously dissapointed as theese are my first upgrade to my bike (other than the tyres). Moving on - Braccianos or Cosmic Elite. I love riding, not training
Re: WTB - MEL - Road Wheels (-1400g)Bracciano's are heaps lighter, but 3mm less aero.
Thats not a lot of difference, So if your not going on looks. I would highly reccomend the Bracciano. Although I did get Fulcrum Racing 3's for $420 Road: 2011 Malvern Star Oppy C6
MTB: 2012 Giant Anthem X2
Re: WTB - MEL - Road Wheels (-1400g)
That's really, really strange, he usually offers exceptional service. He might be getting too busy!? Don't give up on building you're own wheels, once you do - you'll never buy factory wheels again and understand how overrated and overpriced factory wheels are. P.S. I know of a few sources where you could have got similar parts even cheaper.
Re: WTB - MEL - Road Wheels (-1400g)
Amen to that. It's a bit of a bug, and it's a way to get exactly what you want, rather than pick from what is available.
Re: WTB - MEL - Road Wheels (-1400g)
I definitely agree that factory wheels are extremely overpriced, but If I go custom, things like this happens. I hope you don't mind giving me the sources I love riding, not training
Re: WTB - MEL - Road Wheels (-1400g)You could try these
http://www.cyclingdeal.com.au/buy/grp-super-light-road-bike-wheelset-for-shimano-sram-8-9-10-speed-clincher/A200-FR or http://www.cyclingdeal.com.au/buy/edge-light-road-bike-wheelset-shimano-8-9-10speed-black/WWS-XR300 I got a pair from them like the second set but with SLR200 rims but it looks like they don't sell them anymore. I am 70kg and have put around 600km on them without any problems. Great for the price and you can pick up from their shop.
