Re: Project Budget Fixie52x17
Hope there are no hills around your area. She will end up like one of those east german power lifter chicks
Re: Project Budget Fixie
she's fairly fit, but yeh, not a whole lot of hills in our area
Re: Project Budget Fixie
Cant beat dumpster searching! Did you use a clear coats on the white bike? I have done 2 white bikes, The first i didnt clear coat and the paint was prone to chip even after about 4-5 coats. The second i clear coated but i think i went overboard and the white got a yellow tinge
Re: Project Budget Fixie
nah, i didnt clear coat it will have to be on my to do list later down the track, thanks for the tip
Re: Project Budget FixieWow. Beautiful work!
Re: Project Budget Fixie

Re: Project Budget Fixie + Wife's SShow does the charge spoon saddle go??
Re: Project Budget Fixie + Wife's SSA pleasure to read Jase, it's great to see these old bikes getting a second life on the road. Although, I feel a little soft riding 42/17 now!
I've been riding one for the past two months, just hit 1,000km on it and still loving it. The longest ride I do without padded knicks is 5km though...hope this helps. cheers r. ![]()
Re: Project Budget Fixie + Wife's SSi havnt done that much on it, maybe 20kms at a time if that, leisurely evening stroll round the 'burbs. Dosnt feel too bad, although i have nothing to compare to.
ryan, cheers mate.
Re: Project Budget Fixie + Wife's SSLooking forward to the next build up jaseyjase. Great work
Re: Project Budget Fixie + Wife's SSAll looking sweet Jase. Very Impressive. I was a bit worried about a wire brush on alloy, so I sat there with autosol and a toothbrush. Plus side of that is that I now have extremely shiny fillings
I ride 25s on the basis that they divide more easily into 100 than 23s.
Re: Project Budget Fixie + Wife's SS
cheers, seems good value for money then.
Re: Project Budget Fixie + Wife's SSAbsolutely brilliant!
I love your white fixie converted from that old repco. I think I will try and make a fixie (from an old frame off ebay) that looks similar to this and this : http://www.boutiquecycles.com/bikes/det ... s_delight/ Simply brilliant!
