That looks so sick. I'm in the process of building up an early Apollo aluminium MTB with a roughly similar frame but your beasty is many levels up. What brand is it, i can't quite make it out?

It's a 1994 DBS Kilimanjaro.

DBS (Den Beste Sykkel) is the Norwegian Malvern Star, there are some seriously weird old dbs bikes on the web if you dig for them. My frame is just an ok steel estay, nothing amazing but I love it all the same.

They still make bikes... are you ready for the greatest cycling related website in existence?

Pretty generic from the looks. Good bang for buck at about $540 delivered though http://www.cyclingexpress.com/cycle/cle ... pista.aspx

I got her for $400 delivered several weeks ago from Cycling Express, been watching for months. I bought her to ride on the track when the season starts but I couldn't wait so today I chucked on an old 105 brake, 105 pedals and changed the wirebead Kenda Koncept tyres for Michelin Pro3's, and lookin' forward to a decent ride tmoz. As for spec, the Azzuri site is a bit vague. Ally frame, carbon fork. FSA seat, headset and guessing stem and bars? Andel RSC1 165mm 48T 3/32 cranks, Alex R450 rims laced to Novatech sealed bearing hubs (flip-flop fixed-fixed) 16T fixed supplied, 3/32 chain. Don't know why 1/8 running gear wasn't used? :( The frame a 53cm TT as per site specs but measurements are 51cm TT C-C, so a little small :?
For the price I can't complain but I really won't know till I put her through the paces. But comparing it to the CELL fixie (piece of !! BAN ME NOW FOR SWEARING !!) I bought for $250 the Azzurri shits on it :)

Just looking at the web site and they might have sent you a small instead of a medium?? Might be worth contacting them to see if they can sent you the right sized frame. Hope she works out for you on the boards mate.

Thanks PeteV,

I looked at the size chart on Azzurris' site and the seat tube C-T measures 48cm (med). The frame had 'M' stickers on it too. It's that top tube that has me stumped :?
Anyway I'll try her out on the track and if she don't work out I'll sell to a kid  couldn't be stuffed going through the drama of sending back to change

Guess this falls under the ss category. used for leisurely jaunts following No1 son around on his balance bike and to throw on the train for the odd city trip.

Thanks for the comments folks, I was almost not going to show it because I thought it might be too scruffy.
Tbird wrote:Those tyres look scary  fantastic bike love the patina
Not quite as scary as they look! they're caked in dry mud in the photo and admittedly look like they're about to blow apart  ....tyres (although vintage) are sound.

Two rides so far today, a good hour in the bush on a ss and a pootle about the streets on the speedwell with the better half. In both cases can feel the benefit of this one ring business, far less time worrying about which gear you should be in and far more opportunities as a result to look up and enjoy the world around you.

Preaching to the choir I guess.
