.... and the close-up images in their gallery really says it all about the 'quality' of these bikes.....
Good luck guys - they'd have to be better than those dodgier-than-thou Industrie Fixies.....

Stay away from them, they're charlatans.

They've artfully / dimly lit those photographs so that it is hard to pick up the poor quality of these bikesbigadz wrote:Sorry, bit of a noob question, but exactly what should i be looking for to tell what quality it is?kukamunga wrote: and the close-up images in their gallery really says it all about the 'quality' of these bikes.....
Study the enlargened photos, and compare with $500 bicycles of a reputable brand in a respectable bike shop with an honourable warranty and reliable back up service, and I think the differences will knock you out.....

I was actually looking at these bikes and decided to do some research and came here. Can someone recommend a good similar look and price (up to $650)? In Melbourne at all? I'm really only going to use it to get around town (Nth Carlton, Brunswick, with the odd excursion to st kilda)I'm no bike rider by any stretch of the imagination. I take it these bikes are no good even for the casual rider?
Cheers

Apollo are an Australian bicycle company that have been around for 30 years. You may find the 'Salt' around for as low as $599

Thanks mulger bill. It's always good to know what to look for when picking up a new (or old) rig. I've always thought the lack of name brands on the components is never a good sign.Mulger bill wrote:Do you mean...

Talking about not knowing what to look for, just yesterday I was in an LBS and saw a guy walk in and look at bikes. The extent of his testing was to try the bell. I thought "you might as well just kick the tyres"

No 2009 equivalent. Part of the 2010 'Classic' Urban series, including the sub-$1000, higher specced lugged frame 'Pepper'.....SeanB wrote:Is the Salt a new model for 2010? Was there a 2009 equivalent?

Can any one interpret what the actual warranty covers, and for what period ?
