weinmann/origin/formula/eighthinchAnybody here have experience with weinmann rims and origin or formula hubs or eighthinch wheels? Needing a new wheelset and these can be gotten cheaply.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Re: weinmann/origin/formula/eighthinchMe commuter (2009 Kona Dew Drop) has them. Sorta heavy but strong enough for me to jump gutters and belt potholes. I'm 83kg.

Re: weinmann/origin/formula/eighthinch96KG here - rollin on weinmann's at 100psi. Aint collapsed yet.
Re: weinmann/origin/formula/eighthinchformula hubs are a decent, no frills hub, as far as I know, they are re-badged and used in the hugely popular Velocity Deep V / B43 wheelsets. You could do much worse.
I have heard OK things about the Weinmann rims - apparently not as strong as a Velocity, but the price difference may make them a great option. If the wheelset can be had for <$180 I think they would be a good buy. ![]()
Re: weinmann/origin/formula/eighthinchI've got a set of Weinmanns on Origin 8 hubs for about 2 months now. Done about a 400kms on Syd road and so far pretty good. Still true but I am only 70kgs.

Re: weinmann/origin/formula/eighthinchThanks hawksam,
I'm 95kg +6-7kg of backpack (3L camelback in it) riding ~200km/week so I'm glad the wheels do you well
Re: weinmann/origin/formula/eighthinchwas looking at the weinmann rims on ebay, are any of them machined to use with brakes?
i should add that im talking about the deep v style
Re: weinmann/origin/formula/eighthinchWell i can now fully vouch for the weinmann deep-v rims since last night I T-boned a car that pulled out in front of me from a stop sign. Even after leaving a huge dent in car my wheel is still perfectly true. I did somehow though get an instant flat in my rear tube even though it didn't hit anything; quite strange.
Re: weinmann/origin/formula/eighthinch
Lol - that's awesome. You're a-ok?
Re: weinmann/origin/formula/eighthinchthats a good endorsement for the rim!!
Re: weinmann/origin/formula/eighthinchoff the topic anyone used or got a review on the charge wheel sets? seen them on wiggle.
Re: weinmann/origin/formula/eighthinch
Yeah looked at them too. I've got a halo aerorage rear only on order from them. Feedback to come.
Re: weinmann/origin/formula/eighthinch
