I'll vouch for the quality of the Miche wheels, done over 5000k's and still rolling nice and true. The decals peel off easily if youre not into that 'gawdy' look.

Thank heavens for that. I hate the things and came close to saying 'no' simply because of them - an upcoming question was 'are they stickers or annodised'. Me like stickers, took me ages to get them of the Deep V's and clean up the gunk but it was worth it.

The black rims are a bit of an issue. Jan likes alloy because it's more traditional, and I agree, but I don't mind the effect of black rims, particularly as I can keep the traditional elegance without being accused of trying to be retro. Yes, it is a lugged, steel frame. Yes I will be using a leather saddle. Yes I will be going for toe clips, but that's all because they suit the way I ride and what I like to look at, it's just bad luck that it looks like being the next fashion trend (OMGosh, I'm trendy - I'll have to stick with the baggy shorts and running shirts ).

Just boil a kettle, pour over the decals on the wheels and they peel off with ease and no residue. At least the velocity ones do anyway.
