Hi, i am just started my first fixie project, using Nishiki frame, have already removed all parts, and started remove the old praint.... just want to share with u who are interested in. I am still thinking which colour should I choose cox i want to match with the wheelset, chain and the crank arm, want to look nice and cool. HEHE.. Still getting ideas from internet.

Don't paint it

If you're gonna do pinstripes, make sure you use that new striped spray paint. It saves a huge amount of work on the masking.

i accidentally purchased a left handed paint brush so the stripes went on back to front.

thx for your suggestion. I am thinking about Black and red. My dream bike will be black in frame, fork saddle and handlebar. red in wheelset, chain and crankset. But I only can a black wheelset on some 2nd hand website, it's hard to find 2 nd red or white cheap wheelset on 2nd hand website.
Also, I am using sandpaper to strip off the paint from the frame, I spent me a lot of time, and not seem to be effective. Hw stupid am I ? Cox i found that there are a faster way of using paint sripper, but want to ask, will it damage the frame base??

Alex G6000s come in white and you can get them off eBay for a relatively cheap price. I've been riding them for a while and they seem quite alright for the price.
And yeah, use paint stripper, it's way faster than sandpaper...

The down side to painstripper is that it is messy and pretty noxious stuff. It's not something you want to do indoors, or on surfaces likely to stain. Go to a hardware store and read some of the instructions & warnings on the can. However combined with a wire brush or two, paint stripper will make quick work of it.

The other alternative is merely having the frame powder coated. It's tough, durable and most places will do the prep for you. i.e. they'll sand or beadblast the frame to the clean surface they require for their process. I had two frames done recently at Southside Powder Coaters in O'Connor for $70 each.

I hv bought a can of paint stripper yesterday, I did as the instruction said, but it didnt work properly, the paint didnt remove smoothly, even like nothing changed. And on the internet, I found that before there are a that called aircraft paint remover on youtube, it shows that i respond immedately, who knows where can buy this thing in perth?

Did you leave it for like 5 minutes? Until the paint started making crackly sounds and peeling off by itself?

Project update:




Of cox hv, I waited around 20 -30 mins, but nothing change, i still hv to to strip it hardly. So today I go to supercheap to buy the spray one that can remove rapidly. After i spray on the frame, after 5 mins, the paint came out, but i duno is it becox this paint stripper is not as powerful as aircraft paint stripper, it didnt act like as powerful as aircraft paint stipper showed on youtube that has crakked sound or that big respond, i think there are multi layers of paint on the frame, so that i hv to spray several times on eash parts.

Finally, it still completed.
And I also sanded the crank ring and arm( i will colour them), and also remove the old grip off the handlebar( i am thinking to cut to be a bullhorn).

Tomorrow will be the metal primer spray time. Still finding cheap flip flop wheelset or otherwise i hv to buy new one, but my budget is really tight now. HELP HELP

Yea, I checked today, is my fault, I bought a wrong things.

I am just sharing wt my situation is, not begging for any special answers or help. Dun want to get angry or any argurement from anyone, If U really dun interest wt i stated, Please dun read this tread, sorry for wastig ur time.

I just want any comment or suggestion from anyone.
