Indy 500

The place for fixies and other rides without gears

Indy 500

Postby bunkytree » Thu Mar 03, 2011 6:10 pm

I found an Indy 500 on the verge during council cleanup... some air and some inox and it was ridable, but has seen some weather.
Got a SN so i'm guessing it was built in 1984.racing red, 27" wheels, 10sp shimano, shimano tourney brakes.
I'm looking to convert to a singlespeed.
I'd post a pic but i'm a dirty noob and can't.
after that i'll try to share the journey with you all.

7 day waiting period, plus a 10 post minimum contribution to the site....then post your pics, unless you contact a moderator and ask if they can let you post pics before you have 10 posts.

Yes, and the reason it took so long was because it cost alot. I was $2 away from not being able to pay Pony Bikes for the work.

I'm back!
Sorry, had to get married.
Bike is now stripped apart from bb and fork. got most of the paint off except around bb and seat post.
Had to use a fitter with an oxy torch to get one of the cranks off today :-)
I'll sort some pics when i remember how to use photobucket or wherever I put my pics....
