Love the Bowery 72. Not so keen on the 80's colours on the Mashup.

I like the look of the Seek S. The forks look a little funny, but they look like they form part of the head set tube so it looks cool in a way.

I know this isn't the right section but i like the CRX City, hate the frame design on the CRX Speed CS and RS. Looks like you'd knock your old boys into next year on that top tube.

The Mashup  When Superlites get frisky...
If I rode track that Omnium would look the goods.

LBSv2 has the Seek2 in stock, I can only assume the fork design is to facilitate fitting a bouncer without affecting geometry.
Now if it only came with drops...

Nice! So I assume the Bowery 72 will be available here this year.. but no standard bowery? Hopefully another colour scheme for the mashup too. And the Seek S looks nice, replace the cable discs with hydraulics, shorten the bars, and that would be sweet.

ouch that colour on the mashup looks wrong spose you can truly call it a mashup now. I prefer my matte grey colour on my mashup.

the 72' looks ok, but has been de-specced compared to last year. Especially omissions like the Sugino Messenger Cranks, leather saddle, double leather straps and the nicer stem. Its just a regular bowery with a funky paint job. Pretty neat for the price though.

So I brought an '08 Bowery a few weeks ago and had some time this weekend so I stripped it and gave it a paint job.

Not sure I like the upside down handlebars.
I like the Bowery in all black, but remove the reflectors so the bike is more stealthy looking.

Yeah I don't ride much at night so I might remove the back one. I moved the handle bars down (it looked a bit too weird during the day) to the normal position and put some black rubber around half of them and it kind of ties it all together. Also got some decent toe straps and in the process of getting a small front brake. Riding around on the flats and up hills was good but coming down step hills and trying to stop when my legs where tired got a bit much. Plus I don't really want superman thighs.

i recently bought a 2010 bowery 72. the red an white one. I haven't done much riding in years and raced BMX as a kid, so liked the idea of a single speed for getting around town etc.

enjoyed riding it so far, does what it needs to. might change a few bits and pieces over when money permits.

anyone else got said bike??? interested what other peoples thoughts are on it.

anyway, its great to be back on a bike, so much more fun than running and driving!

Well mine didn't stay like the last pic for long. Here it is currently

Image

I've gone to a 16t rear cog but I'm thinking about going to a 15t and a 1/8th chain. I'm also thinking about getting lighter cranks. The bike weights about 6.5kgs currently.

have you changed anything over on the bike or just painted it black?

it appears u are just running with a front brake and a twin pull lever (not sure if thats the correct name) from the photo.

just interested as i have a bowery and will probably mess around with it a bit.

What's it like to ride? Would you recommend it?

I bought one today (red on white). I haven't ridden a bike for a few years either, and riding it home from the city during rush-hour was probably the worst refresher course imaginable but the bike was fine.
Only gripes are the front brake is really ineffective and there's a strange rattling that pops up so I'll have to look around for some allen keys and tighten everything a little bit. Pretty happy with everything so far apart from the front brake.
I passed a speed camera that displayed my speed on one of those roadworks display screens, I'll have to go for another ride tomorrow with fresh legs to see how fast I can go :P

Dunno, I ride in “rush hour” everyday and it still scares me.

Yeah I'm very happy with it; It's my first "racer". I picked it up for 600 brand new as I just wanted something simple and light to ride around the on river bike paths here in Perth. It does the job very well and I would recommend it if you don't mind the compact look.

I'm tempted to cut the bars where the black tape stops to :D
have you changed anything over on the bike or just painted it black?
Hmm well I just fixed it, painted the frame black and removed the stock brakes, stickers and reflectors.

The bike is making a groaning noise, something to do with the new wheels?
On an unrelated note my girlfriend has never learned to ride a bike so I've promised to help (singlehandedly) fix up and old singlespeed Ricardo girls' bike she found. Should be a nightmare.

I have been riding about 300K week to from work on a Black Giant Bowery and I am hooked
It rides like a TCR but more solid; really glad I bought it. Did not like the Pista bars at first but now love them
Not sure I could live with the color of the new models
If you get a Bowery replace the tyres with something better than the Kendas
Make sure the LBS supplies the bike with the right chain. Mine had a 3/32 cog and 1/8 chain, the LBS put on a 3/32 chain (no charge)which ran better
BBB roadguards fit on the rear no problem
Maxis refuse 25mm tyres are durable and ride well
Has anyone tried 28mm? 8)

Those pink and green numbers are even uglier in the flesh.

Saw on locked up on my lunch break.

Pink and green works well here:

But not on that bike.
