Pinarello Catena ?

Postby rabobank89 » Mon Apr 07, 2014 9:39 pm

Hey guys,

I am looking at getting a nice vintage looking single speed bike and the Pina looks great. Glen Parker seems to stock them for around $1k from memory.

Anyone had experience with the Pinarello catena?

Rubbish.

Just another frame made in taiwan, with average parts.

You could do a lot better for 1k.

EG: I just built up a Colossi Cheeko Single speed with much better parts and handbuilt wheels for $1k for my partner. She loves it and so do it.

Not feeling the threadless stem on vintage looking steel bike.

I agree. Apart from the chrome lugs at the HT I don't see much vintage there at all.
I'm all for threadless stems and currently own two singles as well as a steel track bike with 1" threadless steerer. Not very vintage though.

If you're spending a grand, either make/buy something proper vintage or get something modern that goes like a bullet.

Is a CINELLI Vigorelli frameset at $700 decent?

If new, that is a pretty good price!
