Does Ian want our business? His phone voice message is contact him via email only as this phone isn't listened too any more or something like that and when you do email him he never replies. How many emails do I have to send clearly my 8 grand isn't wanted.............
I suspect you find he has gone out of business. When I spoke to Bacchetta a little while back they had no idea either of what is going on. The website is still showing that he is on "long service leave" due back in January/February.
Ok thanks Andrew I saw the same long service message but took no notice as it was way back so I figured he was back on deck. Years ago I had the same issues with him being lacking with help and response so I will take it that he doesn't care and I will buy from the US.
I have tried to buy stuff from him this year with the same result you got and went to the US.
I have had similar issues with flying furniture. I have the cash to buy a new recumbent, but flying furniture seem to be offline and in no way concerned about customer service. It would be professional to clearly put up warning that Ian has shut up shop and will be closed till such and such date. When you ring the mobile phone the message of Ian seems like he doesn't care to have your business. I have dealt with Ian in the past and I'm happy to take my business else where.
I recently took my business to recumbent and specialized cycling warehouse. So far Craig head was a pleasure to deal with and he has provide excellent customer service and just seems like a nice guy. I have ordered a catrike trail from Craig and I am just waiting for it to arrive. I have a recumbent bike, but this will be my first recumbent trike and I can't wait! I think if I don't stop talking about this new trike and generally about recumbents then I am in danger of being thrown out the house!!
Ron I hope all is well for Ian for what ever reason but for me there has always been something that just didn't seem right dealing with him his attitude was poor.
Simmo you hit the nail on the head with Craig very helpful and fantastic attitude bending over backwards to help. I dont have to purchase from the US he is taking care of me now. Just like you a folding cat is being added to the showcase can't wait.....
Because of google...
I found Ian incredibly helpful and good to deal with from the first time I talked to him in 2006. He invited me to his place to test ride anything I wanted to, was very knowledgeable and sensible. Every time I needed something he had it or could find it, or something that was better.
I am sad he's dropped off the face of the planet like this, and very much hope he's OK.
Depending on what you need , can I also recommend David from Laid Back bikes in Edinburgh , Scotland
website is http://www.laid-back-bikes.co.uk/
I just bought a Fujin disc fork from him. He ordered it from Challenge after I had no luck making direct contact with Holland. He didn't ask for a deposit, he answers mails instantly if its office hours in the UK, he kept me posted regularly on what Challenge were up to. I can't speak highly enough of his customer service. Once he sent it, the fork arrived in 5 days from the UK.
And the webpage now reads "If this is your domain and you are seeing this instead of your website, please call Digital Pacific". Anyone want to buy a domain to sell hammocks?
Ian may be offshore and his website sunk but I wonder where that warehouse full of bikes and exotic parts ended up?
