OzHPV Speed Challenge – Canberra – 22nd to 24th October 2010

Postby Poiter » Fri Aug 06, 2010 9:37 am

Just a "heads up" for the dates.

Still organising entry forms etc.

The OzHPV Canberra Mob are organising a weekend of HPV and recumbent racing between Friday 2nd and Sunday 24th October 2010 on the fantastic Stromlo Forest Park Criterium Circuit located just out of Canberra.
Planning is proceeding at present and it is hoped the entry form will be available very soon.
The draft program includes events for both recumbents and fully faired HPV vehicles.
There will be classes for individuals and teams with various races from criteriums to a 6 hour race.
It’s hoped there will be HPV teams coming from Victoria and elsewhere for some exciting racing.

Racing sounds awesome. I hope someone is taking a helmet cam - that would make for awesome footage around a criterium sircuit.

I don't know if you're up to this Pete. Have you done any training lately?

;)

Cheers,
Graeme

Hey Poit,
If you're racing would you mind taking one of your pedals off to give others a chance....

Kidding of course but I hope there is a great turn out.

2010 OZHPV Canberra Challenge

The program for the Canberra OzHPV Challenge 2010 has been revised.
Events will now take place on two days only - Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd October.
No racing on Sunday 24th October but there may be a group social ride in the morning depending on interest.
The 6 hour race has been dropped from the program.
The revised program is available at this web page:
http://www.ozhpv.org.au/events/current- ... lenge.html
Camping still available on site Friday and Saturday nights.
Entry fees reduced in consideration of reduced program.
We will still be making this event happen and it should be a lot of fun for those who come along.
Please register you intentions as soon as possible.

Well, the weather reckoned cutting the event back to Friday and Saturday was a good idea too.
No rain either day, but the Stromlo wind did it's thing making it tough work for racers.

A Roto Velo was available for test rides all weekend which was very popular as were Alex's Performer bikes (an orchestra of them this time).
