I had the pleasure of seeing one last weekend at the bike festival, Alex Gardens.
Ben had 2 on display and if he wasn't talking too much about them he was going to do the 50K ride on Sunday. As it was he was flat out and if he didn't get laryngitis I'd be surprised.
The Rotovelos look great and the way they have been designed you are segregated from all the running gear so no muck and water is going to get you. Because of the build it also has a huge amount of storage for... nick nacks etc. But to be honest you would have enough space for a short tour.
Ben has done a lot of work in the design of this and it looks brilliant. So it won't have the niche of a carbon fibre body but its built to a price point that makes it far more accessible to those who were sitting on the fence. In fact it will be some 30% cheaper than other Velos with a performance difference that would need instruments to measure it. I think Ben is on a winner.
Graeme, from Rans Xtreme fame, somehow managed to borrow the prototype from Ben for the 50K ride. He started at the rear and somewhere along the line he passed us and by the time we got to Altona he was already returning so, no photos. If I knew how to post a pic from the festival i would.
