Hello, and my first bike project

Joined up here to get some ideas and really like your forum.


I am always in the shed making something and this last 2 weeks I have been putting together a recumbent. I bought some bikes from the recyclers at the tip and cut them up for bits, then welded them back together all wrong, and a fun bike rolled out of the shed.
My wife got home on her bike just as I wheeled it out for a test run and couldn't help but grab it for a ride




I made a rack today and installed it, now I have an armchair to ride to the shops

I already have it in my head to make a cruiser, and if the kids have their way we will have all sorts of whacky bikes to ride by next xmas

Yes welcome to the forum, and judging by the amount of fun to be had cutting and gluing fluteboard for a fairing, it must be real good to use steel. Well done for the happy wife pic.

I would love to see some other photos - maybe from different angles. Especially around the head set. I know its not but the headset looks off set from the forks and almost Photoshopped. I say that tongue in cheek but I am serious about extra photos. Under the seat. Close up of welds. Etc etc etc. Most bent conversions of this style look out of proportion and uncomfortable. This all in the one colour blue. The seat further back and the pedals closer to the front looks a way better design. Kind Regards Wayne
Ps most bikes of this design have a smaller front wheel to stop your feet from hitting the wheel. How does it go say around the corners? Do your feet touch the tire?
