That's beaut Steve, well suited to negotiating the shifting sands at Straddy, and now I know what to look for at the start of the Bris Vegas to GC.

cheers

Hi Rob,

It wasn't one of those that broke was it? I read about your misadventure on BROL ... ;)

I do like the bike. How does (did?) it ride?

Cheers,
Graeme

Breaking bikes is all part of the fun of the fun and enjoyment? of doing it yourself! At least if you build it, you can repair it!
Yes, Goanna did break, but not right through.
She's all repaired now, and actually rides and tracks much better!
Here's a pic of the repair and mod,

Hi Steve,
Did you pick up the bike from FF or it was sent to you? FF will be sending my bike to me soon and I am told that it isn't insured. Now, that's a worry. I am interested to find out how was his packing.

Thanks

Chong

Hi Chong,

To answer your question I had it shipped to Brisbane from FF.

The packing was average the bike did have a few scratches on it but I purchased it sight unseen and it was also his demo model.

Would I purchase another product from FF?????

Cheers

Steve :D

jabberwocky?
waste a few posts telling us about your bike!

The Jabberwocky, the name

My wife and I decided on the name before the build started. The appeal of the name is that by most measures the poem The Jabberwocky is the greatest piece of nonsense that has been written and we wanted to build something special but off the wall. One of my memories of the Jabberwocky was that it was multi coloured.
The Jabberwocky is a LoGo tricycle built for two (song in that) built by Martin.
Those associated with WAHPV will possibly have already seen a photo including Kalgrm so I don’t mind if someone who is able wants to post a photo from elsewhere. That will save me trying to spin out a story for 8 more messages and 6 more days.

Cheers
mike

G'day Mike,

Can you resize you picture (640 pixels wide) and upload it to a photo hosting site (eg flickr) for us? PM me the location on the web and I'll then post a link to it here.

Cheers,
Graeme

(****there was a link to the trike, but I only have 9 posts****)
Great fully-faired trike. Reminds me of a FF bike ridden to a speed record by an american guy - Gardner Martin ( on "Gold Rush" in 1986, I think).
or it might have been Freddy Markham who actually rode it(???)

Two new Stratus XPs for touring

My wife and I have (finally) received our new RANS bikes from FF. Here's mine:

Image

Her name is Roma and here are her specs: RANS Stratus XP, RANS Chopper handlebars, Windwrap fairing, RANS Mesh seat (with water bottle racks), Arkel RT-40 underseat panniers, Ortlieb Backroller panniers, RANS Streamline Tailpack, RANS rack, Easy Reacher underseat rack, Garmin 705 bike computer, Airzound horn, Dinotte 200L headlight, 120L amber light, 120L taillight, Mirrycle mirrors, Schwalbe Marathon XR 1.6 tyres, Velocity Cliffhanger wheelset, Freddy Fenders, Avid BB5 rear discs, SRAM X9.

This is my first post on this forum so I've asked a moderator to insert the images. By the way, I had to replace four 26" Marathon XR 2" and one Marathon Plus 1.75" that Ian supplied (with the 1.6" tyres), so if anyone needs some brand new Schwalbe tyres I'm planning on selling them.

Hi all just finished a rebuild of my Cruzbike with a frame donated by Steve Pedal Power 44.
Is quite a bit lighter than the 1st frame no rear suspension this time but felt quite comfortable on a short ride yesterday.Image

Thanks Steve, I ended up using your wheel & disc & the cable operated caliper off my KHS
as the hydraulic cable was too short,
Went for a good ride this morning the bike feels a lot different and the balance feels much better for my riding with no hands trick.
( are you free for a ride tomorrow??)
