Hey Baalzamon,

Maybe pay the full amount in advance to get the best benefit of the current exchange rate ?

Bearing in mind how long they sometimes take to build the exchange rate could crash (unlikely but could)......

Setting up XE trade to see how much it will cost to send them $$$
Any other ideals to send them from Australia?

I'll ask sinner but bet they will say no. But I think Europe is crashing down. Moody is downgrading Europe in 12-18 months again from what I saw on news site yesterday. So I think might be better to wait

The only ones I've seen in SA are the dodgem cars they race in the Pedal Prix (nee Derby). If you count them there are over 50 in SA. Not something that you'd normally see on the roads here. Too many bike lanes that just stop too short of where people need to go. Plenty of fixies, the (very) odd trike and almost never a bent. Plenty of colourful DFs made out of unobtanium and ridden by 'purists' (more like pugilists sometimes).

Trying to convince cousin-in-law that a velomobile is an ideal replacement for his car now that he has lost his licence.

Yes, I had someone from SA comment on my Mango that they have 'lots of them in South Australia'. I had to correct them. The Pedal Prix bikes are basic, flimsy, designed for racing, rolling over & being smashed up. They have a ground clearance so low they are impractical as a transport machine. I'm yet to see one with any sort of camber on the front wheels. It's no wonder they all tip over...

Some do have some camber. It doesn't help that many are built and driven by high school aged kids with little knowledge of physics and how to drive. Let's face it, you can't turn a 90 degree corner in the space for a pin when travelling at 40+ clicks. I see you've tried in the RE. The difference is that you know how to correct it.

At this rate I'll be the first one to have a road going version when I can afford it in a few years time. Many other things to get in the way before then....like my kids.

They mustn't be very common as all the videos on YouTube of them racing show them to have very vertical front wheels! Plus there are always far, far too many of them on the track at once and the track is woefully narrow. But I guess half the point is to bash into each other... oh well. Such a waste. I'm presume they just bin them after the race too... :(

WA 1& 1 pending?

Thats up to 8 already, its the new thing I tell you, and we are the trend setters!!
So come on NSW, SA and TAS (hate to leave them off, you get into trouble for that-I used to live there!) and Territory friends-lift your game!!
Man I would love one of these beasties, although getting it past the minister for finance would be another matter. However as a Tassie resident whilst the enclosed nature of a velo would be a godsend given the weather and mighty crispy mornings, the generally hilliness of the place seems to count against the investment. My daily commute is 60km with 675m of climbing involved, and not a lot of flat trucking to be had en-route. By the sounds of things hauling that extra weight would most likely negate the gains on the downhills and infrequent flat sections unfortunately.

They also have a requirement for a roll cage and seatbelt, I guess not just because they tend to roll but are ridden by school children. And since you quite often have kids swapping through the trikes for training and relays seat adjustment is often a block of foam against the back. If you're in Adelaide in any August they generally have a few training on the Victoria Park race circuit off Fullarton Rd, weekends.

I'd be interested to know why you're selling Poiter and whether you'll get another velo or back to standard bents.

For those of you that are thinking about them, the Rotovelo's are super practical in regards to durability, ground clearance, turning cycle etc and very affordable too as far as velos go.

I never went "away" from standard bents but what is "standard".

The Bean is taking a bit too much of my serious riding time.
Sometimes being photographed and pointed at all the time isn't so good.
Fully agree with all your comments about the RV Ruhbarb.

Have something else in the pipeline in the form of faster, narrower, smaller, lighter 3 wheel velo.

Three all at once. Brisbane is beginning to look as crowded with velos as some of those vids from NL.

Great Video Paul. Liked the music too. Had to smile at Ben "warming the wheels". I know the feeling.
It takes a while to get used to how direct it is.
Now if only Riggsbie and I can get up there we can have a real convention.

I wonder if the pilot I saw on Saturday morning occupying the centre of the middle lane on Turbot Street realises how close he was to being wiped out from behind.
