Well that's interesting..... I might have to have a chat to that body's designer when I see him at the Casey Fields (SE Melb.) race this weekend (it's hardly new, that Bullet fairing has been a familiar sight on our HPV racing scene since 2006).
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

Referring to Michael? Didn't he work for them for a while...? Interesting indeed. Didn't know there was a race on, wish I wasn't working, otherwise I'd be down to check it out.

No, John Taylor is the gentleman who designed & built these, originally for a school in Bendigo (I'm on my second one). I also notice that it's the older version of the lid, which John phased out around 2010-ish.

The Michael you refer to has built several chassis to fit in these shells, originally custom-made but more recently has set them up as production models.

Thanks for that :-)

Upgrade is a DF Velomobile from www.intercitybike.nl - Full carbon, 23kgs, stiff and fast. But less luggage, less nose clearance, greater turning circle etc. Speed comes at a price, literally and metaphorically.

Since the acquisition of Sinner Bikes by Drymer BV development Sinner Mango not stood still. These developments are focused on the speed potential of the Mango. A very important point is that this should not be at the expense of practicality.

The key points, particularly for improving the aerodynamics of the Mango is reflected in the Aerokit. The Aerokit consists of a tail, wheel guard, elbow support, and improved steering geometry. Partly improved aerodynamics Mango is created by the tail, making the Mango is able to achieve higher speeds with the same resistance. This has been extensively tested to have power meters, various Mangoes, and several riders.

More details here.

That was fun editing :) Also awesome to see such a massive cycling turnout looked like an awesome ride.

So when are you ordering your Mango with extra aero Andrew? Has the knee recovered?

Freight for velomobile?

Postby eldavo » Sat Dec 06, 2014 3:59 am

Somehow I missed Rhubarb's Mango in Brisbane posted above.
Anyone moved a velomobile around the country affordably given the high volume/low weight?

Just saw this great vid, more like Velo-Demolition than Ice Hockey, some of the nose to side impact deformation is nice to see plastic doing its thing :)
