Thanks for the information Stephan.
I did see some of that on the German Forum after I posted but my German ability is pretty poor. I got th general idea though.

I have seen this motor and I understand it has been tried in a Mango Velomobile.

What I would like to see is a setup like that which allows you still to use your 3 chain rings.

I'm surprised at your weight. It is very respectable. My LogoTrike weighs 20kg. That's with the rack, mudguards and a SRAM DualDrive.
The Delta Wolf trike I built is 25KG but it is built of square section mild steel 40mm x 1.6 mm and the rear axles are 19mm in heavy industrial bearings.

Hi John,

I'm afraid that this motor won't fit between the frame construstion.
And the limitation for 33 teeth on the front chain ring is an issue.
For my 3- seater project I made the decision to split the chain, put a backwheel axis in between and use the normal back axis chainwheel as a switchable gearbox. If it works, you will have full flexibility and at least 21 gears in combination with a back-wheel motor
Think even in the ome seater, this method will work, if placed in front of the steering bridge.

I will optimize the chainwheels here, but that will be the principle.
Unfortunately we have plenty of snow here, and it make no sense to have my first ride those days.
