An early heads up for the 2012 OzHPV Rally to be held out of Myrtleford VIC later in the year.
Loosely based around the Myrtleford Caravan Park where there are cabin, bunkhouse and camping facilities.
We held our AGM weekend there last year and all had great time.
This year we are extending it out to 5 days or more if you want to hang around.
There are endless rides of all types in the area and the weather is usually pretty good.
It might just be the very first Roto Velo Rally as well...

We were only up there for 2 days last year.
The ride up the bike trail to Bright and Wandiligong was popular although some didn't get quite that far.
The Sunday ride out to Lake Buffalo saw different paces and levels of achievement.
With recumbent group rides it's a bit like herding cats. Many varied fitness levels and outlooks.
With a few more days we could do some of the longer routes to Beechworth, Mount Beauty or Mount Buffalo.
It was great turn out last year.

Ooooh! very interesting.

Is there anything organized in stone or impromptu depending on local conditions at the time?

We were in that area for the first time last Jan for the Alpine Classic and loved how the area has greatly increased its awareness for cyclists.
Even more noticeable was how the general car traffic was accommodating and patient to cyclists. Maybe not like France but I have only heard about it.

Where's my calendar?

william.

Last year I cycled up Mount Buffalo on old GT5.....2hr20 mins going up and 25mins coming down......great buzz.....

There are quite a few rail trails in that area so it would be good to explore some of them !

Well I'd come along if it wasn't so darn far to travel. Reckon it should be great.

Yeah, unfortunately, not only do I have work on Saturday, but it's too far for me too :( I'd be all over a Ballarat, Creswick, or Daylesford meet though. Or more Geelong meets (cough hint cough).

We should definitely plan some more Geetown events..... Along the river and onto the ring road bike path and back to Geetown waterfront is a nice loop !!

I would be interested to ride my trike around Ballarat and Bendigo too, I have heard there are some nice roads up there !!
