It won't be long and these velos will be hitting critical mass and breeding like rabbits.william wrote:Just an echo rbenteer...

n if the Gods smile....
I'm on the good side of the Minister of Finance.... +1
A Rotovelo....... gotta Buy Australian!!
It seems this may be at the 'entry level', judging by most of the posts on velomobiles ...i.e not 'euro flash' lol
Not a lot of in-depth owner reviews either when 'net trawling' but , hey....it's my choice of steed
although a lotto win would add a "Euro" model Velo to my stable

Yes mine was the first in my neck of the woods too. Baalzamon might yet make it two.recumbenteer wrote:... Well according to my research, and putting feelers out there..

The upside of that is that you won't meet the hundreds of random strangers who call you Paul.recumbenteer wrote:... Well according to my research, and putting feelers out there..

The downside is the lack of communal spirit, velo club rides, spare parts stock, maintenance advice etc.
In Brisbane, BurnT and I are very lucky to have been able to leverage Nitramluap's experience in owning a mango velo for nearly 2 years.

It's great to have other velos to ride with, otherwise it can be lonely! A velo ride with average fitness df riders barely gets the heart pumping. At the other end of the spectrum is trying to keep up with Nitramluap-on cardiac alert most of the time!!
Seriously, it has been great to have the advice, experience and generosity of time of Brisbane's velo pioneer.

....communal spirit....gotta get the Sydney 'bent riders together somehow, spare parts are easy enough to get as my RV is Aussie made, and uses common parts, maintenance is easy too.... 20 recent years of cycling has taught me heaps.
....well I hope I don't have to wait for 2 years 'til we get another Velo in Sydney

Pete Heal sent me PDF some time back about a two velomobile crossing of Aus. They are called trikes in the article but had a full body fairing.cherock wrote:Nice meeting you on the bikeways of Sydney Mark! I don't know if the article is on line anywhere.
Norfolk Punch Tour de Nullabor. Perth Canberra in 24 days 5260 km.
I think Wayne Kotzer built the trike part and the lightweight Kevlar bodies were fitted. I can't recall who made them.

Did the coast route via Melbourne.
Kevlar bodies by Billspeed in Canberra.
Very lumpy finish and open bottom.
One complete trike in Central NSW - John Armstrong?
Fairing mould in a shed in Arrarat VIC needing some TLC.
